Awesome Hotel!
What a great little hotel! The staff at reception (Yorya, J-J, and Andrea) were super-friendly and helpful, providing information and booking me on 2 tours. The pool was lovely and I appreciated the shared kitchen. I loved the hammocks and hammock swings! It's a 2 min. walk to the spectacular beach, and watching the sunset was a highlight for me. It was definitely more difficult to get around as a solo traveller without a car, but I felt safe walking the beach and taking the water ferry to and from Tamarindo. I was not a fan of the hotel's restaurant (located at the sister location the Cantarana) when I ate there twice, but the two other nearby restaurants (1-3 min.walk) were quite yummy!

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. The entire staff were incredibly knowledgeable, professional and very quick to respond to all of our questions and needs. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and conveniently located steps from the beach. The hotel has its own clean private trail through the jungle leading straight to the sandy beach. One day we saw howler monkeys in the trees above us on the trail. We will be back to Hotel El Manglar for sure!

VIP Benefits were not received and when I ask for more time on Saturday morning to check out on Sunday the person says it was not possible even when the hotel was almost empty, not until Saturday night that I received a message that I can get as exemption only 1 hour, I already was planned my Sunday, too bad.

Close to the ocean and very nice hotel
Everything was very nice and a one minute walk to the ocean. The facilities are very good including a very comfortable bed and good shower and bathroom. I wish there were hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, there was just one small towel bar. The air conditioning worked well and the staff was friendly. good Swimming Pool, good everything.

We loved our stay at Hotel El Manglar. It was a one minute walk to beach. The beach spot is heavenly and was never very busy during our 6 night stay. The extra amenities like the basketball court were an added bonus for our family. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The pool is great and grounds are beautiful. Having a two bedroom was also nice for our family of four. The kitchen step up included a full sized refrigerator, stove top burners, toaster oven, microwave, regular coffee pot and a Cafe Britt coffee capsule machine. The Palm Beach Estates area is very walkable with lots of dining options. Our favorite dinner spot was Cafe Mar Azul next door. We also visited Tamarindo on Thursday night for the night market and had a great time.

Hotel El Manglar was the perfect spot for my friends and I. The staff is some of the kindest and most helpful staff I have encountered in my travels. Yorya checked us in and helped us plan a great sunset cruise as she was very knowledgeable about the area. She, along with all the others, was incredibly attentive and thorough. The facility is very nice, and the pool was relaxing. The hotel has its own beach entrance with a well set up sitting area. All of the bars and restaurants in the area were walking distance and the main strip of playa grande is a short drive. We will definitely be staying here again.

Manglar was such a perfect quiet private town. If you enjoy separation from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo, this spot is for you. The beach is amazing, and you can also take water taxis to Tamarindo which is fun and we really loved the staff!

I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed staying here. The staff is super sweet and helpful and the grounds are well maintained and plenty of shade and places to relax when you need time out of the sun. We had everything we needed and the wave out front was never crowded, we never felt the need to travel elsewhere for surfing…love it! The area is very quiet and safe. If you want hustle and bustle it’s about a mile walk up the beach to the river, where you can take boat across and walk into Tamarindo, but only during the day - the boat doesn’t run after about 4pm so be mindful of the time! Thank you for a great experience!
