Property is secluded and a bit far from Cancun city itself. Free cenote and catamaran is offered free but you have to reserve early. We got there thursday and both catamaran and cenote were not available per agent until Monday…however if you become a member, they will become available…to me this is a scam.

We had a wonderful week here. The facilities and service was excellent. The beach is not swimmable but there is a natural salt water pool and plenty of swimming pools. We never had trouble finding a good spot to sit by the beach or pool. The food was fine, better than most resort food but I would t call it gourmet. Our room had some issues (broken shower, broken door) which were addressed promptly. The vibe here is friendly and relaxed, this is not a party place, which we appreciated. Highly recommmend the horseback riding experience (on site, extra charge) And the trip to the beach club (included). Airport transportation was a breeze as well. One note, bring cash if you don’t want to pay exhorbitant atm and exchange fees at the on site atm. The gift shops are also absurdly overpriced (I paid $40 for a small bottle of sunblock) so bring any necessities with you. Other than thah we had a great time and will be back!

The property is huge, basically a combination of 3 resorts. Dinner reservations can get booked quickly, so try to do it ahead of time. Room service is amazing. Lots of options and pretty fast. I love the shuttle that comes to drive you around the resort. I highly recommend this place.

The hotel is beautiful, the facilities are very well maintained. The restaurants were good, and the food is great. The hotel’s staff is very helpful and polite. There are many things to do in the hotel and around that are included in the all-inclusive packages and are great, such as the Rancho Bonanza. I consider that few things can be improved, for instance, I was located at 900s building and there were no lights on the stairs. In addition, it could be good to add some flexibility in some restaurants (not all), we were 9 people and usually we were told to split out due to the maximum being 8 people for table, one chair more does not seem to me a big deal. Now, a negative point is the transportation company “Lomas”. Unfortunately, Lomas’ quality services are deeply questionable. The information is confusing, incomplete, sometimes contradictory, and they are rude with customers. The hotel should have more transportation options than an incompetent unique provider. I recommend visiting the hotel Dorado Royale Catamaran Cenote.

We stayed at El Dorado Royale in a beautiful 2nd floor beachfront suite overlooking the ocean. This was our first visit to this property but one of many visits to Mexico. Check-in was a breeze and took less than 5 minutes. The property is very large and maintained extremely well by the employees. They have golf carts to take you around the property, although we enjoyed walking most times as there are lighted paths that are perfect for walking along the ocean. There is sandy beach area, with Bali beds and lounger chairs. Highly recommended bringing water shoes if you plan to be in the ocean as this resort is near the reef and not the best for being barefoot. The food was good for an all-inclusive resort, although I was disappointed with the quality of the sweet breads, which Mexico is typically great at. They have 24-hour room service, which we ordered on our last night; the food arrived in 30 minutes. We were pleased with the quality of the food and the fast service. Make sure you call in your room service order rather than using the web app. The daily activities and shows were nice, although I would have liked to see a place for dancing and more karaoke. The room was very beautiful, clean and maintained well by the housekeeping staff throughout our stay. The staff members at this resort are fantastic; restaurant servers, Leo and Sheila, were very kind and provided excellent dining service. Everyone we encountered was courteous and friendly. This resort is GORGEOUS! For the most part, it seems very well spaced out and not overly busy. We were able to get cabanas and beach chairs whenever we wanted on the beach. While the concrete blocks in the ocean are an eyesore, they allowed us to enjoy the ocean even on “red flag” days inside of the blocks. The staff were excellent, and the food and drinks all tasted great. The only bottleneck that we noticed was with dinner service: it was exceptionally hard to get reservations, had very long wait times for walk in (if you even could), and the food took on average over one hour to arrive. Overall, would reccomend this resort, with the caveat to book reservations ASAP!

What's not to like? Paulo and Julio at the La Isla bar were fantastic and fun! Our room steward was like a NINJA--in and out so quickly, but the room was always clean and ready for whichever time of day we were there. Lu the hostess at the breakfast buffet and the cabana pool restaurant was service with a smile! The "kids" we traveled with were able to spend the day at the water park and came back to the Royale for the adult portion of the vacation. The only negatives we incurred were that my adult children (didn't have the same room steward due to being in their own room), had money missing from their wallets. The dinner reservations were difficult to get with the resort being so crowded due to the holiday--because of that the room service wait was long. All in all was a FANTASTIC experience and we didn't even touch HALF of what was offered.

The food was great - regardless of what restaurant you were in. The room was clean and well maintained. Balcony was a good size. Bed was comfortable. We’re not beach people so not an issue for us - but - the beach along the property was not good. Lots of rocks, very choppy water and these hideous boulders in the water to prevent erosion of the small beach area. Overall we would go back for sure because the resort (beach excluded) was great!

We loved walking the grounds and hanging at the pool. Staff at the Spot restaurant were attentive and Benjamin the bartender at the pool was awesome! Best bartender we had all week. The grounds were beautiful and they were always working on the property to keep it clean. The food was good, especially liked breakfast. The only issue we had was room service took about 2 hours. We met so many people that come back again and again. We hope to be back soon!

We had a great stay at El Dorado Royale! We felt welcome and accommodated from the moment we arrived. The property is very large but we never had to wait long to catch a golf cart and the staff were always amazing and helpful. Definitely recommend booking excursions and dinners immediately upon arrival but the app made this very straightforward. Only complaint would be room service took 1-2 hours each time we ordered, so I would recommend trying to eat at restaurants and use this as a last resort. There was a number of fun activities and shows planned for each day and lots of options for pools/the beach to relax at during the day. Overall a great vacation and looking forward to visiting again!

Beautiful quiet retreat like property. Many eating options. They offer transportation to and from airport at no charge. They also include day trips at no charge. Hotel beach is ok but they can take you to Maroma Beach at NC. Swim up rooms look great but even though i booked one; i didn’t get one. Employees very friendly. Cabanas available everyday at NC and I was able to get one everyday.
