What a great place! The Blue Diamond home is phenomenal, and Big Mac and his team elevated our stay to a level we have not experienced at any of our many other home rentals.
The fun began when Mac picked us up at the airport in his party bus, and he kept us laughing and entertained on the drive to the house. When we pulled into the driveway, our guests started applauding when they saw the house. It is that special.
The home has a private pier with dining over the water, thatched roof outdoor bar that seats 16+, gorgeous pool and hot tub steps from the water, sand volleyball court, cornhole boards on the raked sand beach, two lit pickleball courts, spacious open floor plan, 4 bedrooms with ocean views and another 4 with lagoon views, two bicycles, a golf cart for exploring nearby restaurants and bars, and multiple vans for touring with Mac.
On our Day 1 tour Mac took us river rafting, which was great fun running the class II rapids on individual inner tubes. We then headed to the waterfalls, where we either waded, jumped from the platform, or if you were a cliff diver like Mac, dove about 15’ or so from the side of the waterfall.
On Day 2 we stayed close to home, playing pickleball, cornhole, and Rummikub, with a mid-day run into Maya Beach on the golf cart. There we had a great lunch at Bistro and then hung out at a swim-up bar called Mickey’s.
Day 3, our last, we went to San Ignacio to see the Mayan ruins. That was a worthwhile trip, for the ruins are stunning in the
