Cosy Cottage in the Heart of Mousehole

Summary:
A short walk away from the beautiful harbour, this stylish cottage for two is the perfect Mousehole getaway. Find eclectic interiors wrapped in characterful granite, with charming original features throughout. From exposed wooden floorboards to aged stone walls, elements of the old are complimented with touches of new. With joyful pops of colour and retro-inspired fabrics, it’s hard to peel yourself away from a home so welcoming. Yet, there’s so much of Cornwall just waiting to be explored.

The Space:
Tucked away along a quaint road and set back from the bustling Mousehole Harbour, this romantic Cornish cottage awaits you. While much of the traditional features have been carefully maintained, vibrant eclectic interiors give the space a fresh, modern feel. Step through the pink front door and into the kitchen - small, yet perfectly formed, there’s plenty to whip up laid-back holiday meals. Meanwhile, leading off the kitchen is a stylish bathroom boasting a waterfall shower.

Head upstairs to find a living space with bags of comfort. In the mornings, seek out the best spot on the deep sofa and settle in with the papers and a cup of tea. In the evenings, stick a film on the wall-mounted Smart TV and feel the day melt away. Next door, the homely bedroom is full of space so unpack and really make yourselves at home. You’ll find lots of antiques throughout the property with tons of character - from rustic furniture to a cast iron stove and pretty artwork hanging on the walls. With Mousehole’s best spots right on the doorstep, Newlyn a short walk and the rest of the south coast only a short drive away, you really are spoilt for choice in this stunning corner of Cornwall.

Guest Access:

The Neighborhood:
Mousehole is arguably one of Cornwall’s most beautiful and most loved villages. Its historic fishing roots can be found all over, particularly in the picturesque harbour which is often full with colourful boats and the occasional seal. Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch or simply enjoy the peaceful ambience of this traditional Cornish port. Nestled along the rugged coastline, come to enjoy breathtaking scenery, rich history, and a laid-back atmosphere.

There’s tons to do in the local area: from soaking up the sun on Mousehole Beach to visiting the local Bird Hospital, sampling ice cream or enjoying a pint or two at the pub. The village has a thriving artistic community, and you can explore numerous galleries showcasing local talent. Admire paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and other unique artworks inspired by the stunning surroundings.

It’s also a brilliant place to explore the South West Coast Path, particularly the stretch between Penzance and Lands End. Embark on a scenic hike along the rugged cliffs, and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline and the Atlantic Ocean. We’d particularly recommend visiting Newlyn, with its fantastic foodie ties, as well as the bustling Penzance and stunning St Michael’s Mount. Porthcurno, Sennen and Gwynver are also just a short drive away, boasting some of the most beautiful and untouched beaches in the whole region.

So whether you're seeking relaxation, outdoor adventure, or cultural experiences, Mousehole offers a range of activities to suit every taste. Immerse yourself in the beauty of this charming village and create unforgettable memories along the stunning Cornish coastline.

Short break
The property was as expected. Clean tidy and in a very convenient location. When we arrived it wasn't immediately identifiable as there was no name or house number visible from lane where the narrow pathway leads to the property. The water in the shower room ran intermittently hot/cold. Additionally there didn't appear to be any bags for recycling and the black box for glass recycling was full of paint/building materials. Overall we would consider booking this property again and recommend it as a very pleasant place to stay.

This is a stunning little cottage, tastefully decorated and comfortable, and hidden up a quiet laneway. The books of local history were a bonus. Being in Mousehole, there is NO parking. We found a park on the quay and walked and bussed everywhere which was perfect. Note there is no hairdryer, but hey, you’re on holiday, right?
