Ranch in private canyon close to the Colorado River surrounded by BLM lands

This historic family-owned ranch is situated in a private canyon at the end of a well-maintained county road. Corral Creek runs through the property, eventually feeding into the Colorado River: surrounded and secluded by BLM lands that run into Arapaho National Forest.

Enjoy this tidy 3 bedroom - one bathroom second home (historically the ranch caretaker's home) on the ranch with abundant wildlife and canyon views. Watch the sunset over the ridge, or take a stroll with your fishing rod down to the creek and trout-stocked pond.

This renovated caretaker's home is has three bedrooms—two featuring queen-sized beds and a third with two single beds with one full bath. The updated kitchen is equipped with everything the home cook needs.

In the summer and early autumn guests can also access the campsite. Several picnic tables and a canvas tipi are set in a tucked-away clearing across the stream.

Owners live in main ranch house and maintain the property. They’re available to lend a hand during your stay and will show you the property on arrival. There are horses on the property and two friendly ranch dogs.

Location: This property is five miles off US 40, 15 minutes from Kremmling, half an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park, less than an hour from Silverthorne, Steamboat Springs, and Winter Park, and two and a half hours from Denver—but a million miles from nowhere!

Satellite TV and WIFI are available in the main house.

One dog is allowed with an extra charge of $25 per night. (Must be friendly with other dogs and comfortable around horses.)

This property is perfect for a family wanting a private getaway or a group hunting or fishing trip. It has all the comforts of home in a one-of-a-kind setting you won’t forget.

Please note, a $175 cleaning fee will be applied.

A very peaceful place with many things to do
We really enjoyed our stay at the ranch. It is very quiet and secluded. Carmen was a kind and easy host and lent us a few kids fishing poles for the pond. Our kids caught three large trout and had a great time. It was a great break from the city and we would definitely come back.

Carmen was a great host at the Rimrock Canyon Ranch. Our family greatly enjoyed the relaxing time at the beautiful ranch and house. My kids and I loved fishing for trout in the stocked pond.

Wonderful secluded property
We had a fantastic stay at the end of July with 4 adults and 2 teens. The trout pond provided some light fishing, and the stream and surrounding canyon provided lots of exploration opportunities. The house itself is very large with plenty of space. Definitely recommend!

Relaxing Stay
This home is located on an amazing property, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As the listing describes, it is a historic family ranch house. If you remember that, you will not be disappointed. There is a lot of room to explore, both inside the house and out. We only used one of the beds, but it was comfortable. Bathrooms have been remodeled recently. The decor in the house is fascinating. No matter how old you are, I bet you’ll be able to find something that reminds you of your childhood. The property is the best part, though. Wonderful pond and stream access, with a quiet picnic area, complete with hammock and teepee. Off the beaten path, but yet close to good fishing, and it was easy to get to one of the neighboring towns for supplies and dining—recommend Granby over Kremmling. Mike, the caretaker, was very friendly, but yet gave us our privacy. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved our stay on this remote ranch in Colorado. Felt like home for our time there and created some beautiful memories with family. So very peaceful and beautiful!! Fed the horses, Babe and Blaze carrots and fished and hiked, enjoyed the porch for games and family time. Highly recommend this vacation rental and would easily go back for another visit here!

Great place to get off the grid
We truly enjoyed our stay. Lots of opportunity to explore the ranch, the kids enjoyed climbing up to the ridge and watching the sun set. Also, good fishing pond and creek. The caretaker Mike is super friendly and great with the kids. He even made ice cream one night! We will definitely be back.

Great Family Vacation
Our family stayed at the ranch for a week. We had such a great time! The views are amazing. We especially loved the drive in through the canyon. We hiked around the property several times. Our kids (11, 8, and 5) loved everything about the ranch. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The caregiver is very kind and helpful. It was a very relaxing family vacation and we plan to come back! Thank you!

Absolutely perfect!
This was by far our favorite VRBO experience. The location is remote and beautiful, the house was perfect for us, and the owner and caretaker are so nice and easy to communicate with. We had one of our best family vacations here! The house is very well stocked (even though we always take everything we may need). I can’t say enough positive things about the beautiful setting. We loved spending a week in this winter wonderland. We can’t wait to go back!!

Slice of heaven in the ❤️ Of Colorado
I’m not sure I can adequately put into words how amazing our vacation and time spent at the Rimrock Canyon Ranch truly was ! We booked very last minute thanks to a cancellation and I just can’t believe our luck! The grounds are absolutely stunning, from the stocked fishing pond to the stream running through the property. The home is spacious yet so cozy and perfect for our family of 5(kids 14, 12, 10). Location, although 30 to 60 minutes from most attractions, was perfect! We spent one morning in Kremmling white water rafting, another at Grand Lake shopping, enjoying the food and the views, and another in Steamboat Springs at the local farmers market. Each morning was followed by returning to the ranch mid to late afternoon, sitting on the front porch drinking wine, relaxing in the hot tub, playing corn hole(brought our own) on the lawn, fishing in the rain, grilling local steak and fish or watching the Olympics via the satellite TV. Perfection! The caretaker is a lovely man and a wealth of information, as most locals are! The pride the owners take in the property is evident and it truly is a slice of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of Denver and the busy ski towns! We drove through RMNP and Estes Park on our way home, again, wow! Mother Nature rarely disappoints, and this property is in the heart of it all! We will definitely be back!!

The Most Perfect White Christmas
I simply can’t say enough great things about this property! My husband and I stayed there with my parents from 12/22 to 12/28 and had an amazing time! We wanted a cozy white Christmas secluded in the woods, and boy howdy did this place deliver! The house itself is wonderful with a great, roomy, amazingly stocked kitchen, plenty of comfortable bedrooms, and an awesome family room. Outside, the views will blow you away! We had such a great time hiking and exploring the property. Honestly, this was way more than just a property. Our time there was a bit of Heaven on Earth! If you are considering this property, regardless of the season, do yourself a favor and go ahead and book it!

Great Stay at the Rimrock Canyon Lodge
We had a peaceful and relaxing Labor Day weekend at the Rimrock. The property is very secluded and the perfect get away from city life. The lodge is quite cozy and perfect for families and group travel. The house is well stocked and has a big kitchen for cooking meals. There is no end to the comfortable outdoor places to relax, whether it be on one of the many decks, at the fire pit, by the lake, by the stream or just on a rock on top of the many hills surrounding the property. There is also fishing In the stocked pond on the property and several hiking trails that start on the property. Communication with the owner was easy and friendly. We highly recommend staying at the Rimrock!
