THE CEDAR SHAKE HOME

With a total renovation to this 2450 square foot home complete, it becomes the model for the optimum vacation experience in the area. Conveniently located only 13 miles from Murray State University. We do include Free WiFi.

Having the closest proximity and most gentle slope to the water of any rental home in the vicinity are not the only reasons it delivers such an unrivaled experience on the Lake. Outstanding features and an extraordinary location are factors contributing to its distinctive standing. Unlike the resorts and rental homes in crowded coves with heavy boat traffic to which so many visitors to Kentucky Lake have grown accustomed, here is a vast, wide open, peaceful vista across the main lake of the Land Between the Lakes.

The main deck is one of the outdoor spots to relax. From the branch of a surrounding tree a Bald Eagle may preside over a meal or casual break, he’s the perfect compliment to the awing view.
The options for stretching out in the sun or shade are right here - the deck is outfitted with comfortable chaises and dining tables. If the guests feel like relaxing even closer to the water, this home’s covered dock has a large swim platform perfect for taking in the view while soaking in some sun - It has an area for sitting in the shade.

The façade of this ideally positioned, traditional lake home is a perfect melding of Craftsman Style with Cedar Shake. Before even stepping inside one first senses its richness. The unparalleled view of the lake and warmth of the natural red cedar says welcome. The exterior accents of stained glass windows and lighting with complementing colors confirm the quality that signals the start of a very special time away for family and friends is about to begin.

Once inside it takes just a glance out of any of the numerous windows and doors for guests to know they have the ultimate vantage point. From the main deck, hand laid stone patio, and rooms on both levels, visitors find their attention drawn to the pristine blue water. It is so close that when rising in the morning, dining throughout the day, or just relaxing, one is struck by the familiarity of taking in the view from the balcony of a cruise ship. In reality this view is from a homey three bedroom, two and a half bath escape.

Upstairs is one of the home's two kitchens. Spacious, well equipped with a walk-in pantry, stainless appliances, granite counter tops, and an Italian tile floor. The kitchen joins the dining room with hardwood floors and a unique raised stone fireplace. The combination makes for a large friendly space where many great meals are enjoyed surrounded by walls of windows facing the lake.

Upstairs are two bedrooms with lake views. One with two full beds and another has a queen bed, private half bath and its own large sliding glass door with direct access to the deck and the soothing lake view. The primary bathroom on this level is striking with an eight-foot, modern, custom designed shower stall, entirely clad in marine blue tile. It has a built in bench, shower heads at both ends, body jets, and a large stained glass window created by a local artisan.

The downstairs is reached by a spiral staircase. Numerous windows ensure the lake continues to be the focus. The bedroom here features sliding glass doors with a direct prospect of the lake. Its occupants may choose to step out onto the patio sitting area or remain in the comfort of their bed to find themselves inspired by the captivating morning sunrise, promising the perfect start to the day. One wall with interior arts & crafts style stained glass windows adds a dramatic architectural detail. This accommodation has access to a walk-in closet with a front-loading washer and dryer, as well as a full bath.

The main living space looks out on the water – the smallest of needs have been considered and met here. An eight-foot granite bar and an additional full kitchen outfitted with cherry-wood cabinets and stainless appliances provide all of the tools needed to entertain on the lower level with ease - it is the backdrop to the living room. Furnished with a great arrangement of comfortable seating – here is an area ideal for a special reunion that will remain etched in the minds of all who attend.

Carefree waterfront living was the objective when the home's deluxe, covered dock was selected: Please note: Lake levels are Gov't controlled and may be lower during non peak seasons.

The Fishing Possibilities at the dock are exceptional with a great population of bluegill, bass, crappie, and catfish.

As for the Access - Here there is no steep slope or long trek to your boat. Being only seventy feet away, step out the door and be on the dock in a minute or less.
Coverage and Quality are Redefined – Equipped with an attractive and highly functional hip roof, superior protection from the elements is ensured. Not only is the aluminum decking non-slip, but it is splinter free.

Then, there is the Relaxation & Recreation – If after a day out you return with the sense that exploring and playing on the lake can be both fun and hard work, here is the place to reflect on the day you have had and contemplate tomorrow’s plans. Having a 12x28 swim platform complete with a retractable ladder makes this the spot to share a fun and rejuvenating break lounging, sunbathing or swimming.

A Boat Rental on the Property: Is one more convenience, and can add hours to vacation time on Kentucky Lake. There is no drive to and from a marina to collect and return a boat. For a rental over multiple days how great it is to have the driving completely eliminated. Imagine instead the pleasure of a sunrise breakfast ending seamlessly with a stroll across the lawn to board the boat that awaits you at your private dock. Effortlessly, straight from the comfort of your home, a day on the lake begins...
Our customers tell us they can't get enough of the helpful staff at this vacation home. During your stay, you're just a quick walk from Kentucky Lake. A water park is available. A kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms are available in the vacation home.
  • Air-conditioned home with kitchen, washing machine, and 2.5 bathrooms
  • Splash around at the water park
  • Steps from Kentucky Lake and 11 minutes by car from Tennessee River
This vacation home offers its guests a water park. This vacation home also features barbecue grills and a garden.

Great stay at KY Lake
Quiet location off the beaten path. The rental was clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of space and right on the water. Owners live on site (convenient if something happens) but you still have privacy. Great place for a family vacation! We look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful and Serene
Our little family, including our 15 year old Lab, loved it here. The slope to the dock for fishing was an easy walk & the view from the deck (and inside the house) was breathtaking. The owners were extremely friendly and responsive. The house was super clean & came with a lot of additional amenities in the kitchen which was handy when I forgot something at the grocery. It was an amazing stay.

Mini Fall Lake Vacation away.
Wow! This was a wonderful place to stay. The owners Pam and Paul were very gracious to provide all the directions and many small necessities so we did not have to make an immediate run to the store. The comforts of home away from home. Beautiful lake, so many different types of animals. A Bald Eagle came and sat each day in one of the trees around the house. Deer, wild turkeys, fox. So quiet. So pretty. Heard the loons. Saw white pelicans. We are definitely planning to go back. Thank you. Would definitely recommend this place 100%. Stephanie H.

Very nice and clean place.
The house itself was great and clean! It had plenty of beds, privacy, and storage! We had a great time! There was a washer and dryer, which was handy. There were plenty of games and books and overall the cabin was very well stocked and perfect for us! The owners were helpful. The dock was great for swimming. Just be aware, if you want a boat at the dock you must rent it from the owner. It is in the listing, but it is under children, so it could be overlooked. Otherwise the place was great, views were great, owners gave us our privacy, and the lake was just down the hill!

Million Dollar View
This lake house was a wonderful vacation. Right on Kentucky Lake and the views are breathtaking. Tons of games, puzzles and books. They should put a picture of those on the rental. The family had so much enjoyment with doing a puzzle at the dinning room table and looking at our view. The house was super clean. Lots of space. A lot of love was put into this home. Upon arrival the owners meet you with the house key, they live next door. Of all the years renting on Vrbo this was a first. A little different. The owners were very nice and pleasant. This lake house rental is a 5 star plus. Highly recommend………

Million dollar view
The view was beautiful! Property was on a hill so it made it hard for some in the group to manage it to get to the dock. The house itself is nice, lots and lots and lots of knick knacks everywhere - with a group of six it was a lot and interfered with space/storage of our stuff. Some of the utensils are in need of replacement, but overall - great vacation with family and friends.

Lakefront with Boat
We booked this place because of the location, listings details, reviews and boat rental opportunity. We had an unique situation and the property worked out perfectly for what we needed. One of my friends was diagnosed with leukemia three years ago and was given three years to live. Two transplants later he is still around and still dealing with Chemo. We wanted to go fishing, have a fish fry and take his little kids fishing to make some memories with them. We decided to rent this location for over a week. The first few days was just adults and we were able to catch fish from the dock and the boat we rented. The grill on the deck had a burner so we could have our fish fry outside and not stink up the house. After the other adults left his wife arrived with their three young kids. The kids loved the boat and fishing from the dock. The house was big enough to spread out and had everything we needed. We cooked all of our meals there for a week and going into town was not too far away to get the groceries we needed. The upstairs shower was an amazing set up with numerous shower heads and great water pressure. There is a full kitchen on both levels and a nice washing machine and dryer. We posted some pictures of stay on our social media accounts and have had friends already asking us for the listing so they can plan a trip. The boat we used was big enough for four grown men to stand on each corner to fish comfortably.

Beautiful cabin, beautiful view
This was my second stay at one of Paul and Pam's properties. Last year I stayed next door with my husband, and this year got to spend five nights with my four adult children. The view is the whole reason we chose this location but Paul and Pam's homes are just so quaint and homey. They have thought of everything when furnishing the houses and the cleanliness is impeccable. We also had an opportunity to rent one of their two boats and after a thorough orientation with this first time captain, my kids and I had so much fun on this beautiful lake. I look forward to my third visit in the future

Perfection!
My family has endured some recent rough times and with hectic work schedules and, well… life… it’s been near impossible to process the recent loss of my father. On a whim I did a quick search and found this property available the upcoming weekend. I quickly booked and Paul confirmed and worked out the details in minutes. I joked that it was fate, but after our visit I’m convinced. Pam was very thorough and welcoming at check-in and while close enough to assist quickly, they were scarce during our visit enhancing that private feeling the property offers. We planned to venture to the park, get out on the boat, and a variety of other things but once I caught site of the waterfront, the days slipped by in a beautiful display of wildlife, water, and reflection. The view was so stunning that I spent as much time at the private dock with my camera as I did with my fishing pole. I even got a couple nice shots of the Bald Eagles (thanks for the tip!) If you’re looking for the perfect place to step away from the hustle and become one with nature… you’ve found it! If you want to hit the parks, fish or any of the other nearby activities, this is the perfect place to start and end your days. We will definitely be back! Thanks for everything!

All the comforts of home and more. A full kitchen upstairs and another downstairs. The upstairs shooter is like a spa experience. Just make sure you are comfortable with a narrow spiral stairs between the upper and lower levels. You get used to it after awhile. Great lakeside view. Lots to do in the area.
