Packwood Ski & Vacation Getaway

This cabin is perfect for a family and has three separate sleeping areas. It has a bedroom on the main floor with queen bed. In addition, two twin beds are in a loft. There is also a full bed in another small bedroom in the same loft. This loft also has a den with TV. One bathroom on the main floor features a full tub and shower. For heat, you have a choice of a wood stove or heat pump (mini-split) or individual wall heaters throughout. Has AC for summertime use. Choice of two barbeques (large or small) as well as a fire pit. This cabin has a spiral staircase to get to loft so one must be able to negotiate this staircase if you want to access the extra beds and den with TV. This cabin is small and we recommend 4 adults or 2 adults and two children as the perfect fit to enjoy your stay.

This cabin is small which makes it cozy. The living, dining and kitchen is one room and consists of a table with 4 chairs, a bench for two and a futon for two. We supply wi-fi as well as DVD and Bluetooth Speaker for cell phones.

Nice appliances include electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, crock pot, coffeepot, toaster, dishwasher, iron, coffee bean grinder and washer and dryer. Adequate pots and pans and dishes, sheets and towels and a hair dryer are all for your use.

This cabin sits high on a hill in a very nice and safe neighborhood not in any flood zones. The driveway is steep and comes to a tee. It is best to drive facing forward to the tee and turn right and stop. Then back up your vehicle to the cabin. This makes it easier to get back down. For those uncomfortable with a steep driveway this cabin may not be the right fit for you! While at the cabin can enjoy the outdoors by barbecuing on the covered porch as well as making smores at the firepit with a beautiful view.

During your stay at this cabin, you'll be within walking distance of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The cabin offers free WiFi and a kitchen.
  • Air-conditioned cabin with kitchen, washer/dryer, and fireplace
  • Free WiFi
  • Just a 3-minute drive from Gifford Pinchot National Forest and 5 minutes from Backbone Lake Trail
This cabin offers its guests barbecue grills. The front desk is open around the clock.

Smoking is allowed in designated areas at this Packwood cabin.

Cozy cabin with excellent use of space
This cozy cabin had everything you would need for a very nice stay and then some. The owners have thought of everything. There is a wood stove inside (or a regular heating unit if you prefer), a fire pit, and 2 outdoor grills. There is even a washer/dryer, and they provided soap and dryer sheets. The kitchen has a coffee maker - and coffee! - toaster, crock pot, full size fridge, plenty of spices, and lots more. They managed to fit a lot into a fairly small space but without feeling the least bit cramped. The towels were THICK and soft! We were sent instructions to open the lockbox for the key, so check-in was a breeze. Since there were only 2 of us, we didn't have to use the upstairs at all - although of course we peeked up there. :-) They do like you to leave your shoes outside, which is quite reasonable, so pack slippers or some socks to wear around the cabin. We enjoyed it tremendously and felt very much at home.

Location was great. Communication was super. Good instructions about parking in the some what challenging driveway. Stairs in the house were very tight and can be slippery so be careful. We did not take any luggage up them. Great utilization of space. Small bedroom up stairs we almost missed. Had all the basic amenities.

Cozy, clean, convenient and comfortable
This tiny cabin tucked in the woods was perfect for our family of four traveling to Mt. Ranier. It was stocked with what we needed (complete with coffee) and most importantly, clean! We were there in a bit of a heat wave and appreciated that the AC worked well. Close to the Stevens Canyon entrance and local IGA. Super friendly, responsive, and hospitable host who lives close and not 100s of miles away. Kids loved the upstairs and having their own space! Would definitely recommend, especially to families with kids/teens!

WA Road Trip
Visiting my daughter and she wanted to take us all around to see the sights and areas where she previously lived. This place in Packwood was in a cute little town where we always end up seeing the elk! We only stayed one night because we had to hit the road, but this little cabin was a great place to stay anytime of year. The hosts keep a nice place!

Great cabin for a weekend of skiing
We booked this about two weeks in advance of a trip from Oregon to Washington to ski at White Pass. From the get-go and throughout our stay, Mike and Grace were amazing in terms of communication and responsiveness. The cabin was super clean, well-stocked and very comfortable. It was also ideally located just 25 minutes from White Pass, which made for the perfect home base for a weekend on the slopes. Just what you want from a Vrbo!

Just what we needed
The house was perfect for the few days we were there. The property owners were easy to get ahold of every step of the way. I’d love to see this property and town in the winter time with the views it provides along with the large herd of elk we saw on a daily basis.

Great place close to Packwood
Great place, we very much enjoyed our stay. Everything is exactly as in the photos and the description. Mike and Grace were quick to help us out with questions. The location is superb, very quiet, just a few miles from Packwood and convenient to 2 entrances to Mt Rainier National Park. We loved that Mike and Grace stocked their kitchen with a very generous emergency supply of coffee, Coffeemate and coffee filters and a few staples for guests who can't make it to the supermarket before checking in. It was wonderful to have a full kitchen with dishwasher, plus washer and dryer that all functioned flawlessly

Relaxing Get-away near Mount Rainer
We are a family of 5 w/ three kids (12, 13, 15). This was the perfect size cabin as the kids slept upstairs (each with their own bed) while we slept downstairs. We saw some beautiful birds, including a couple hummingbirds. Approx 1.5 hour drive to Sunrise, so very convenient. Neighborhood market was well stocked, although it was more expensive due to the remote location. Wonderful fire pit for roasting s’mores. Highly recommend.

Master bedroom is comfy!
Nothing is better than a good nights rest. The master bedroom was so comfy, my husband usually has such a hard time sleeping in rented places. He was ready to buy that mattress set up. We did squeeze in family and friends, knowing ahead it would be a tight squeeze. The honesty was appreciated, we were prepared, and it worked out to be a great visit. Being in a quiet neighborhood where we could walk the dogs and have privacy was a great way to spend the holiday weekend. We also lost an item and the owners where so great at helping us look for it. Thank you!
