This is our home, in our neighborhood, and it is not designed as a party location. Please read our house rules closely before booking. Please let us know your plans when you request to book our property.
House Rules:
1. Right after booking, you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Your booking is not final until this step is completed. It must be done within 24 hours or you could lose your reservation. The names on reservation, contact info, credit card used for the security deposit, and ID provided during the guest verification must match.
2. Travelers are sent our check-in form just after booking. We ask about each guest staying in our home (ages of children, info on any pets), any visitors, number of vehicles. We will also ask about your arrival and departure times, and how we can best get the house ready for your arrival.
3. Quiet hours are from 8pm-7am. This is a City of Pacifica ordinance. We are on a very quiet street and noise carries very easily in our canyon. During this time, it is not allowed gather outside or use sound amplifiers that can be heard by neighbors.
4. Only the reserved number of guests are allowed to stay in the home. The number of local visiting guests must be pre-disclosed. Excess guests that are not pre-discussed and agreed will be charged at a rate of $200/person/day.
5. Every vehicle must be on the reservation/pre-approved by the host. Vehicles need to be parked at pre-designated parking spots only. The property has 4 on-site parking spots: 2 in garage and 2 in the driveway. If Guest has more than 4 vehicles, additional parking spots must be discussed and pre-designated.
6. No loud parties, no late evening arrivals. If neighbors are bothered and we get a text, guests run the risk of being removed from the property immediately without second chances or refunds.
Again, our home is located in a quiet street, in a canyon, and is the perfect setting for up to 16 people. And maybe a pet or two. :)
7. Pet guests (including visitors) require a $100 per pet fee. Pets must be potty trained, and current on flea and tick prevention treatment, and guests are not allowed to leave any animals unattended at any point during the stay. This includes locking pets in the bathroom. Please let us know if you need a crate prepared.
8. When you enter, we ask you to remove your shoes to minimize the dirt tracked inside the home.
9. We have security cameras directed/pointed onto all exterior entry points to the property (front door, side gates) and a noise monitor outside. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection.
10. There are locked closets for personal possessions and extras for the rental. These closets are private and are not to be opened by tenants or guests under any circumstances.
11. Furniture should not be moved around as moving can break them and scratch hardwood floors.
12. Smoking is NOT allowed inside The Whale’s Tale Pacifica. If Guest smokes inside of the property, the reservation will be immediately canceled and Guest will be charged $1,000 extra cleaning fee.
13. There is a late checkout fee of $100 every 30 minutes unless discussed and agreed in a written form due to tight cleaning schedule. Thank you for understanding!
