First time staying at Andaz Ottawa Hotel for family XMAS who lives in city of Orleans (15 minutes away) I rented 2 rooms for my family and welcome desk Mr Pirami gave excellent service, attentive to our needs, answered all our questions, courteous and professional! No parking in the hotel. Valet parking was $45. Very convenient walking location. Will recommend this chain by Hyatt!

Even though there was construction next door, it was fun for my disabled son to watch the activity of the workmen below. The hotel staff made us feel special and made the experience of staying there a wonderful stay.

Nice hotel, but some issues
Room was very clean and well maintained for the most part. One huge issue was the noise. Normally I wouldn’t blame the hotel for the construction going on below but our window latches were broken so we spent the night listening to the guys drilling below and then letting off a blast in the morning to break the rock up. The window would not close so we got the brunt of the noise.

Upon checking in it took almost 10 minutes. The staff didnt seem to know what she was doing and needed a manager. Overall the property was great. The room was awesome and i would stay there again.

Right across from Byward Market. Very busy area. There’s always a long line checking in and out. It was nice to have a credit per stay to spend in the cafe.

The level of noise was unacceptable. Behind the hotel is a construction site. Customers should warned PRIOR to booking this hotel that there will be noise due to construction behind the hotel.

Paid for a king bed with a view. Upon arrival I was offered two choices: 1) a view over a super loud construction site where they are building a multi storey underground parking (very pound bangs until 9pm and then the next day starting at 9am) or 2) a room next to the elevator. Basically not only was there no reason to pay extra, I had to ask whether there was any option available to avoid the bangs or the elevator. At check in there was no option. The manager did find an appropriate solution after a 5 hours of construction noise, relocating to a room on the other side. We repacked and moved. This was supposed to be one relaxing night. Had to fight my way to get what we paid for. I am gold Hilton and gold Bonvoy so I see no point coming back to this property. While the hotel claims that construction is beyond their control, we discovered that the construction is an extension of Andaz itself! We are essentially paying a premium for a hotel extending itself. While the hotel did provide free wine in the lobby, there isn’t sufficient seating for all. The lobby gets crowded quickly. Overall, this Andaz property is far below the standards of its sister properties across the world.
