The location and being secluded were great. Had a view of the ocean from the deck. The kitchen was stocked pretty well also. That was the good things. The place was smaller than it was portrayed. The stairs were very dangerous and the place wasn't clean.the rooms all had bedding from 1980 and the carpet in the house was old and disgusting. Only place to sit was at the dining table in chairs that were falling apart or a love seat in the main room. Overall it was a big disappointment and the price for such a run down place is crazy

It was a very secluded and cozy. Great view of the beach. Kitchen and living room area was super nice to hang out in. Maybe a little dated but it’s a beach house on the Oregon coast and the proximity to things we wanted to do was great. Would stay there again and again.

Good and bad
Property location is amazing. Easy access to the beach. Isolated. Previous reviews mentioned musty smell and it exists but you can tell the ground floor has recently been upgraded. New floors in common areas, new kitchen and paint. But all of the bedrooms have old or no carpet and there was visible dirt in corners in upstairs bedroom. Beds were in need of upgraded mattresses. We enjoyed our stay but hope they continue to upgrade bedrooms. The general dirty old carpets and dirt in corners needs to be addressed. The washing machine was not working and management company was responsive. They couldn’t fix it but tried.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!
This place was dirty. Piles of dog hair and cobwebs in the corners upstairs. Closets are creepy and furniture in front of them which adds to the creepiness. Like why are they blocked? Also most are off hinges. Beds and pillows are super uncomfortable. I tried to just enjoy my stay and deal with trying to get some of our money back later because I didn’t want to spend my trip complaining but don’t do that either. You have to be ON SITE to get any communication apparently. Beach access is down the road which wasn’t bad but the house just ugh. We will not book with this host anymore. Also for the record I complained first about the house while I was there and never got an answer. I shouldn’t have to spend a ton of time trying to call someone when I’m on my trip!!!! I also took photos of the pieced together walls and flooring and dirt oh and check your “pillow” for termites before you go to sleep. Ewwwwwww!!!

Great getaway!
I’m not sure why people have left such scathing reviews on this place, they must’ve fixed the sewage issue becuase it only smelled a little musty, which is to be expected in an old unique coastal house such as this. The walk down to the beach was totally do-able as long ans you anre anble-bodied and the views and breeze off the back patio were magical!

Beautiful views with peaceful setting.
My wife and I recently stayed. The views were great and the house was in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Very convenient to both Depoe Bay and Newport. The house was older but the kitchen was very modern and well supplied. We travel frequently and my wife said that this was her favorite stay. Mostly because of the beach access and peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely stay again. Mike & Kirstin

Beautiful coastal view
Our coastal visit was so peaceful and enjoyable! We loved sitting on the deck for coffee and some meals while watching for whales with our binoculars. The beach was a close walk down. The older ones of us had hiking poles, and the toddler maneuvered the trail ok. The location of the house was close for visiting Devil’s Punchbowl and Newport areas. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking our meals.

Dirty and stinky
The house was absolutely filthy and stank of sewage. We had to wash all the silverware, dishes and pans before we could use them because everything was covered in a greasy, sticky film. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the sheets smell dank and musty. The upstairs toilet wobbles, there are cobwebs everywhere, half the blinds are broken, parts of the subfloor are exposed with nails sticking out, etc, etc. We started calling this house 'the gift that keeps on giving' because of how many issues we kept encountering. It was easy to check in and the location is great, but the house itself is a health hazard.

We really loved being able to walk right down to the beach. House was cozy with plenty of space for everyone to sleep. There’s not much space for seating in the living room but we spent most of our time outside anyways. Would come back again!

It’s all about the location
This location was the best part of this property. Deck views of beach, a trail close by to a waterfall and the softest, cleanest sand. You’re a short drive from Depot Bay or Newport as well. But the driveway is steep, which made very many trips to and from the beach very tiresome. The house and linens were clean, but there were some seasonal ants to deal with. We couldn’t find the broom to sweep up until we did a visual sweep of the property at checkout. Turns out it was outside and the dustpan as well but by a different door. The house has enough beds to accommodate two families but only one small couch. The bathrooms have decent water pressure. The outside lights were not working, but that made it easier to see the ocean at night. Not much has changed about this house since it was built in the 60’s, and it’s a quirky setup. But it has what you need and it’s peaceful, nice for the dogs as well. The deck is large and well kept, and the property is clean.

Private location with fantastic access to the beach
The property is literally at the end of the road- finding it was not difficult with the instructions provided. The cabin itself is rustic, so if you are looking for a modern, up-to-date kitchen and amenities this may not be the place for you. We wanted privacy and access to the beach- and this place was perfect! There is a hike up/down the hill to and from the beach and the last section requires use of a hand-line to lower yourself to the beach. This was not an issue for us or the dog that was with us.

Overall disappointing except for Location
The property is run down, outdated, and poorly maintained. As many other reviews confirm it was very dirty on arrival. If all you are interested in is a place near the beach that fits a medium size group this place will suffice but I wouldn’t return or recommend it to friends. Beach is only accessible to able-bodied visitors.

Private cabin with amazing location
Incredible location - just a short walk to the beach, and amazing views from the deck and living room. The carpet and many of the fixtures are worn and dated, but everything was very clean and functional. The cabin is situated on the property such that it feels very secluded, and it's almost like having the forest and beach to yourself. Looking forward to visiting again!

Great location, rustic
Rustic & dated. Clean for most part. Limited kitchen supplies. Needs more living room seating options & outdoor seating. Also it’s dark and needs better lighting. Beautiful view and scenery. Short walk downhill to beach. This property could be 5x better if owners invested in a little interior facelift. Overall enjoyed location & beach access.

You pay for the location, which is unbeatable
The location of this house cannot be beat. It’s is private, magical, and has a beautiful path down to the perfect beach. We were two families - 4 adults and 3 young kids. Plenty of space for all of us. The home however is in rough shape. Basically don’t have high expectations for quality - most things are falling apart, it was VERY dirty (we had to broom, mop and vacccum twice during a 2.5 day stay). It’s a roughing it type of home, which we are fine with, but the home needs attention. My advice - bring your own patio chairs if you can, maybe even a folding table so you can eat and enjoy coffee on the deck easier. Bring beach toys, bring extra blankets to snuggle with, maybe some bean bags for kids cause there’s only 1 couch for seating. Wear socks or bring slippers - the floors are filthy. Bring a baby gate for the stairs if you have a little one - there is no rail at the bottom and they are steep with a turn that allows for a big opening to fall into, to the point where a kiddo could really get hurt. The rails on the upper patio are starting to fall apart which is a major safety concern. Broken plant holders on the deck with soil everywhere. You get the point, it just needs some attention. A little would go a LONG ways with this home. We honestly loved our stay and wound likely book it again, but now we know everything we’d bring in order to make it more enjoyable. We also feel we should be reimbursed for our cleaning fee and service fees considering the condition of the home. You pay for the location, which as I mentioned, is unbeatable. The Deck views, quick drive to coast attractions, Privacy, and walk to perfect HUGE beach is amazing.
