Great Stay & Owner/Chef!!
Quaint, historic building with beautiful, individually decorated rooms…one or more with private bath. Owner Matt is fabulous, helpful, and a Fantastic Chef!! Breakfast of pancakes, sausages, and eggs was delicious, and the fresh-brewed coffee was too. Perfect!!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming Inn while moving our daughter to SUNY Oneonta. The host Matt was warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious and prepared with passion, adding a special touch to our mornings. The historic house is full of charm and character, providing a unique and memorable experience. If you're looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay near SUNY Oneonta or Cooperstown, I highly recommend the Brookside Inn

The house had a lot of character. The breakfast was AMAZING! The host was very personable. The house was comfortable and clean and I choose a room with a private bath and we had a lot of privacy. I will definitely be going back.

Our host Matt has found his true calling in running the inn in this great old home. He offers suggestions for dining around the area. He offers 3 different breakfast serving times. And the breakfasts are homemade and delicious!

We liked the proximity to Copperstown. Also liked the host. He is very friendly and accommodating. Shared bathroom was not an issue and the bathroom was updated and clean. Beds were also very comfortable. This is a 200 year old home and is very charming. The downside is the property is lacking in routine maintenance and upkeep. Frayed rugs, dusty, gaps to the sides of the window air conditioner, lots of spider webs in between the windows. Exterior also needs a good clean up, paint and sign needs to be fixed. Good was good just would have been nice to have some healthier options.

I really appreciated that the owner texted us beforehand to check on our arrival time so he could be there to greet and welcome us. The property is in need of some TLC, but at the same time, it was a welcome escape from the cookie cutter chain hotels by the interstate. Good place to stay while visiting Cooperstown of the southern tier.

Great stay, great people - felt like home
I stayed here for nearly a week, and this place became home to me. Often times I had to leave early and return late and it was never an issue. Food was fabulous, well more than I had experienced. Snacks and coffee always available. I worked at the kitchen table late at night and I felt like I was back at my house. Very accommodating, especially with breakfast or other requests a guest may have. The saying "you arrive as a guest, leave as a friend" really applies here. I would highly encourage people to give this place a try.

Host Matt is kind and patient. He carried my suitcase up and down the steep steps to and from my lovely room. He was accessible whenever I needed him, from pre-check-in to check-out. Excellent WiFi. Comfortable bed; I slept well. I enjoyed my breakfast of juice, pancakes, bacon and decaf Kurtis coffee. However, those who would like a healthier breakfast would be out of luck, There was no fresh fruit, no yogurt. Also, no bread, bagels or pastries of any kind, no jam. There is a large maybe a little too friendly dog. I rate my stay as average because although everything is fine, it misses the mark in elegance.
