Very clean and quiet. We were upgraded to a family room and were grateful for the kitchen and extra space. Yes the room furnishings were dated, but it was very clean, comfortable and quiet.

There is no way that this so called hotel should be allowed to stay open. The room door and sliding patio door could not be locked properly so anyone could open. The wallpaper is peeling away and stains on all surfaces and they have the cheek to charge over $200 / night !

Rooms dated, visited this property 35 years ago, nothing has changed, furniture and fittings just more worn. Office staff cool, restaurant staff disengaged. Buffet dinner $45pp for very small selection. Distinction Hotels need to address.

A Great Place to Stay
My husband and I stayed here for one night on our trip and really enjoyed it! It's in a great location and was a nice hotel with an indoor/outdoor feel. We paid the little bit extra for a room with a balcony and are very happy we did. It was lovely sitting out there with a glass of wine from the on-site restaurant watching the sun set over the mountains. The room was spacious and comfortable, and everyone was very kind.

Give this a miss.
We booked for a family of 3. The room was very dated and had an over powering smell of cheap air freshener that lingered all night- it was very uncomfortable. The mattresses were extremely worn. The shower was leaking. We were provided with 2 towels for 3 people - they gave us an extra when asked. There was only one mug in the room and 2 glasses. Considering we checked in late - they should have had all the time to prep the room. The Motel is the worst I have stayed in over my 2 weeks holiday in NZ and yet it was one of the most expensive. Not worth it and I wouldn’t be coming back.
