The Moon Palace was amazing. We've stayed at Sandals and RIUs in other countries, and the Moon Palace exceeded our expectations. Our room was on the ground level, and we could walk to the beach from our patio. We had our own large hammock, and a huge hydrotherapy tub in the bathroom. The food was great, and they did well accommodating my vegetarian diet. We spent hours wandering the vast property, just enjoying beautiful the views. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. We loved this place so much that we prepaid for another Palace Resort vacation for next year. Tips: The double beds are small. We stayed in one room with our teenage daughters, and they felt cramped sharing a bed. But the room itself was very spacious. Download the app for the resort. It was extremely useful for planning dining experiences and ordering room service, among other things. Just like at Sandals, reservations for specialty dining are required. Book them as soon as you can, or you might wind up with an 8 pm reservation like we did at Momo's. Before booking your excursions through Moon Palace, check out the folks on the other side of the guard station on the beach. Soloman gave us a sweet deal on a glass bottom boat ride that we'll never forget.

My sister and I recently stayed at Moon Palace and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, I checked out a day earlier due to some negative interactions with a couple of female staff members, whose attitudes were not up to standard. However, I want to highlight some amazing team members who truly made my stay more enjoyable. A big thank you to the bartenders— Oshane, Shane, Devonte, Travis, Andre and Deomar. They were all fantastic and really went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. I also want to give a special shout-out to Janelle Williams. Her outstanding service made a huge difference, and because of her and the other staff members, I will definitely be returning. I believe with a little attention to improving the overall customer service, this property has the potential to be great for future guests.

The rewards system is a scam. We had $125 Expedia rewards . Then we were offered $1250 if we attended a 90 minute promotion . Agree to go. Told we could use the dollars in the SPA . But SPa prices were double & triple times the normal . Told we could use the dollars in the gift shop. Turned out to be true but only on a limited amount of items. And their prices were at least 5 times higher. So our &125 were not spent. Would definitely not recommend letting them talking to you into a 90 minute promotion event.. Food at the buffet was good. but was the same every day.. the specialty restaurants that you need a reservation for were all excellent. But beware there are up charges on some selections in these restaurants. They range between $25 to $119. Bottom line we sure enjoyed our stay. Did not let the issues mentioned above dampened our seven days day. Scam.

Placed on the 7th floor that has a drain pipe running through the vent that made noise throughout my stay. Did not sleep comfortably because of the constant noise of running water.

The resort is ok but much better back when it was the Jamaican Renaissance Grande before Palace Resorts acquired it. The food at Momo and Pier-8 was not edible. The Buffett was the best due to the wide selection of food available. Our entire group was told by staff that you can smoke outside anywhere, then comes along a couple of the resort's anti-smoking staff telling us we can't. Flew first class American Airlines. Good, but their food was also not edible. DON'T fly into Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW). Worst airport in my opinion. Our gate was changed 5 times in an hour and a half. Too big and too confusing. Also, don't return to Chicago O'Hare (ORD). Got to taxi 20 minutes from runway to gate. The airport is too big and poorly laid out. Jamaica arrival through immigration and customs not bad but departure would have been a nightmare if it wasn't for my wheelchair bound wife. Old, antiquated technology slows everything down. A half-dozen Jamaicans standing around arguing who will push the wheelchair. People standing in line that has no end to leave. It's better than our first trip in 1991 but the government needs to pour some money into upgrades. This was our 13th and last trip to Jamaica. It is old news to us now. However, you can still have a great time especially if you take in some of the area attractions...be aware they can be very expensive.
