The receptionist at the front was nice and welcoming. We arrived to our room close to midnight after a long drive that turned to nearly 10 hours from Los Angeles. When we finally got to our room as soon as we opened the door, it had a bad odor. We checked the room out it seemed decent and clean. When I was about to charge my phone on the nightstand next to our beds I noticed there was what seemed like mice poop. We were so tired and just wanted to get some rest since we had to check out the next morning at 8. So we decided to call it a night, but honestly this ruined our night and we felt traumatized and couldn’t get a good night rest thinking we might have some mice crawling on our beds. We didn’t even feel comfortable to shower, or touch anything! We just wanted to get out of there asap. I would never stay here again, so unfortunate because the views outside are beautiful! That’s the reason why we chose this hotel to begin with. Another down fall, you have to pay for parking.

Fantastic staff/team at the hotel. Stunning views of downtown SF from the marina. It’s better to look at San Francisco, than to stay there. The hotel is tucked away from the freeway and all of Berkeley’s problems. I’ve always felt safe here compared to hotels closer to the city. The heating/AC unit didn’t work in my room and it took over a day to get maintenance to fix it.

Holiday Road Trip to Berkeley
We were very comfortable in the room. There was plenty of space to unpack and plug-ins of all types needed. We appreciated the eco-friendliness and the dog-friendliness of the hotel. We had breakfast at the Boathouse twice and enjoyed our choices and the service. We have recommended the DoubleTree to friends already!

This is our second time staying at the hotel, I love the area and the staff is really nice, but the beds are sunk in and the pillows have no support any more, also it was sad people leaving their trash on the parking lot. But I will definitely return except I will bring my pillow next time

$40 a night for parking. Great location - near the freeway. My room overlooked a parking lot, so just specify if you want an ocean view.

Highly disappointed
The photos online do NOT depict the room. The rooms are outdated and dingy. Paint chipping off the walls, tiny bathroom with no counter space. The sliding glass door was broken and could not shut entirely. The heater would not turn on until you set to 78*. Highly disappointed. The food at the restaurant was good though.
