There is no information about shared bathroom in the ebookers website when we booked the hotel. The bed was not firm at all and I had back ache using it; woke up half of the night and couldn't sleep.

Disappointing - ok if noise, diet is not a problem

Pros: Newly decorated, the restaurant below
Cons: Road noise/ double glazing
A room with view - Ebookers promised; watching the pedestrians cross and move along the side street whilst viewing the end of a building opposite - not exactly a pleasant vista. The free 'breakfast' consisted of pots of porridge, 2 croissants (no spread, jam, knives, plates etc etc) and the complimentary biscuits. Being lactose/ gluten intolerant - thank goodness for the two bags of dry roast peanuts. That was breakfast. There were only two paper cups - if there was two people, that's one drink. You have to keep your cup if you want any more. The room, facilities are newly installed, decorated. The bed was comfy and clean. With an old single glazed sash window, the noise of traffic was constant - less frequent in the early hours. The stud walls between the rooms did not help; any noise (plugging in, making a cuppa, coughing or otherwise - small children shouting/ running in the corridor - early morning alarms, not your own). It was a broken/ insufficient sleep that premised the next day ahead. The shared bathroom was ok at first; with the floor mat being used by several bare feet - it was a little unsavoury in the morning. A personal niggle was there was no shelf, hook, anything to put bottles of shampoo, gel etc whilst taking a shower. Do go to the restaurant - even if you're not vegan. It did need explaining, though , that yoghurt is made from milk! If you're staying at the hotel, there's 15& off - the food is delicious, authentic and filling.

Palace disappointment

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
I was quite intrigued and excited to be staying at the Namaste Palace hotel. Unfortunately that excitement turned to annoyance when I found it hard to even get in to the hotel. The door on the side is locked and can only be opened from inside or with a card. As I hadn’ t checked I had no card and so rang the bell . We had to wait for about 5 minutes for someone to open the door. This person turned out to be a guest there. I managed to phone someone to open and get us our key. She spoke little English. It was quite a noisy room and we only had one bath towel. Finally our vegetarian breakfast turned out to be a couple of old croissants wrapped in cling film and a pot of instant porridge left in our room. Brilliant!
