This airplane hangar apartment offers an authentic Alaskan experience without roughing it. Located in the heart of North Pole, it is enveloped in nature as well as set up perfectly for Aurora viewing. We have recently seen moose, lynx, fox, and families of migrating swans on the lake! The master bedroom is outfitted with all the comforts of home, including a plush king bed with classic Pendleton bedding, a new smart TV, a ceiling fan, a portable standing fan, and room-darkening shades. The open floor plan living room/kitchen area features a cozy sectional fold-out couch with throw pillows and blankets and smart TV for nights at home. For added convenience, the bathroom is located between the master bedroom and the living/kitchen area and offers a bonus walk-in closet and laundry room. Large windows in all areas allow you to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. This authentic Alaskan venue is perfect for your trip of a lifetime.
Guests may use anything within the unit, on the patio, and on the lake. Access the lake
via the concrete dock to the front-left of the apartment for paddling, floating, swimming, and winter cross-country skiing. Please help us keep everyone safe by respecting the hangar, not touching the airplanes right outside your front door, and not walking on the runway.

This unit is Air accessible for those with their own planes. You can fly in on wheels, skis, or floats to our 2500-foot float pond or 2500-foot gravel runway: Airway Field (5AK3). Please call ahead for local aviation information. If you are arriving by car, 4-wheel or all-wheel drive is highly recommended during winter months.
Please keep windows closed and keep the thermostat between 65 & 70 degrees. Thermostat changes will be gradual and temps will take hours to adjust.
Please know that in accordance with the Alaska Landlord Tenant act we require a signed lease agreement; an increased management fee of $230 for the first 59 nights (which goes towards supplement insurance), and then $80 for each 30 day block after 59 nights; and a completed background check through Safely to completely validate your reservations over 30 nights.
Pet Policy: if your dog receives advance approval to stay
- Please keep your dog on leash.
- Pick up all dog waste.
- You may not leave the pet in the unit unattended. You will take your pets with you if you leave the unit.
- Dogs are not allowed up on the furniture or the bed. There will be a $500 excess cleaning fee if there is any dog hair on the furniture or bedding.
Please take your shoes off when entering the house.
No Smoking indoors. Receptacles for cigarette butts are provided outdoors.
-$500 fine will be incurred if there has been smoking in the unit.
Quiet Hours are from 10 pm to 9 am. No more than the authorized # of guests at the house during quiet hours.
No disruptive events or parties. Airbnb guidelines state that if a guest is reported for a disruptive party or violating Airbnb's party and events policy, they may be subject to suspension or removal from the Airbnb platform. In addition, the host may also ask that you vacate the property and no refund will be given.
Travel insurance is recommended. As with any vacation, unexpected situations sometimes occur that can put a damper on even the best-planned trips. Upon completing your reservation, we will provide you with an optional third-party Travel Insurance policy.
We use a third-party company for guest verification. Upon booking you give permission to the property manager to use a third-party to verify your identity and check criminal databases to confirm your reservation.
