Welcome to our beautiful 1940s cabin nestled on the picturesque Roxborough Island of Stoney Lake in Ontario. Ideal for family vacations and gatherings, this unique property offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with historic charm, creating the perfect backdrop for cherished memories.
Property Highlights:
* Spacious Accommodation: Comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests, making it perfect for extended families. The property features three separate buildings with 2 kitchens and 1.5 bathrooms.
* Main Cabin: Sleeps 2 in a peaceful and sunny bedroom (not shown). Includes 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom with shower and bath. This space is perfect for grandparents, offering comfort and tranquility. A large fireplace takes center stage in the main building, adding to its cozy ambiance. The immense living and dining areas are great for indoor activities. Laundry facilities are located in the basement.
* Sleeping Cabin: Equipped with 2 beds (1 queen and 1 full) and a playpen/crib, the sleeping cabin is ideal for a family with little ones. This cabin sits directly on the water, where the gentle sound of the waves lull you to sleep.
* Boathouse: Features 2 bedrooms—a primary suite with 1 queen and 1 full bed, great for the parents, and a kids' bedroom with 2 full beds. Includes a kitchen and dining room. Adjacent to the boathouse is a separate lean-to with bunk beds for 2 additional guests. The boathouse also boasts a dock for boating, fishing, and swimming.
* Swim Dock: Located on the south side of the island, the swim dock enjoys all-day sun, making it perfect for reading, lakeside lunches, and world-class swimming in a private bay shared with just one neighboring property. The water depth is approximately 2m at the edge of the dock and exceeds this depth, free of seaweed, for the entire 44m length of the swimming area to the nearest shoreline (an uninhabited island). Like a cul-de-sac, this bay has no through boating traffic.
* Waterfront Bliss: Direct lake access for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The west tip of the island includes a wading area perfect for little ones learning to swim. 1 Kevlar canoe and an abundance of paddles are available for guests to explore the lake.
* Outdoor Fun: The property spans 2 acres, encompassing the westernmost point of the island with stunning westerly views—ideal for breathtaking sunsets. Enjoy the spacious property for outdoor games, scavenger hunts, s’mores by the fireplace, evening loon calls, and incredibly starry skies.
* Pristine Natural Landscape: The property is surrounded by an excellent natural landscape featuring pines, oak, juniper, and sumac—and there is no poison ivy whatsoever.
* Modern Amenities: Stay connected with WiFi and a landline phone for peace of mind.
* Timeless Charm: The beauty of the cabin feels like traveling back in time, free of modern distractions on the island. A gentle breeze typically flows through the buildings, keeping the temperature just right.
* Dining Areas: The property offers four dining areas—lakeside by the south swim dock, seating for 8 outside the main cabin, seating for 10 indoors in the main cabin, and dining for 6 in the boathouse.
