Lovely view; a bit of a walk from the station, but a shuttle (¥200) is available.

Great hotel at great location in Japan!
Will visit again
The air condition in the room was not working well. So we had to move to other room.
We had drink in the fridge for free which was very nice! Overall very nice dinner and all was nice.

Liked: Staff & service
Someone in this hotel needs to tell the cleaners to dust the rooms.Otherwise, it's an old, slightly jaded resort hotel that was nice enough to stay in.
The hotel was quite old, but the Onsen was amazing. It felt a bit cheap that we had to pay extra for new towels

Great view, large rooms, smoking hotel
Rooms were large, location and view are amazing. Price is a little high, rooms aren't the cleanest, but the service was good and onsen included helped. The whole hotel is a smoking hotel, other than that it was nice, more of a camping feel
Really like the hotel and staff generally very helpful. Hotel has it own onsen and generally better location as not so touristy. Only negative is the room was not cleaned on a daily basis during our stay. It was quite expensive seeing that the rate did not even include breakfast.
We couldn't get a room in Nikko, so we ended up out in the boonies in Kinugawa Onsen. I would guess that 1/3 to 1/2 of the hotels are closed. Our hotel was nothing to brag about. We have learned that if you can't get a Non-Smoking room in a hotel, all rooms are smoking rooms. We were given a spray bottle of room freshener. Warning: there is little English spoken by the staff. The staff at the onsen didn't speak any English, which made it disconcerting when considering bathing at the onsen. It took over an hour from Nikko to Kinugawa Onsen station. There is a bus service from the station to the area hotels that costs 190 yen/person. Just give the driver the name of the hotel. There is a restaurant on site, but if you're not a member of a tour group it was our understanding that we couldn't eat there. (Note this was a big communication issue.) We left to try to find an open restaurant, but the town appears to be geared to summer tourism and we didn't find a restaurant nearby. We ended up walking back to nearby the train station. This is probably the worst hotel I've stayed at in a long while.
The hotel was quite distant from the station and was at the other side of the bridge. The staff were courteous. The room for two was spacious and the view was of the river was the best part.
