This was our third stay at the Turkey Hill Inn. It’s old school charming, comfortable and quiet. Easy walk into town, where there are many restaurants and a lovely small town vibe. Also a close and easy train station if you want to use quaint Summit as a launchpad for a day trip to NYC. Not at all an accessible property, if that is something you need, but if not, it’s a lovely unconventional spot!

This hotel is an old Victorian house and the usual old house things apply like some squeaky floorboards and the walls/windows aren't as well insulated as modern stuff, so you may hear other guests. The area outside was very quiet. The place is very well kept, so if you like old houses you'll love this place. The lady who helped me check in was very nice, but there is no 24 hour staff onsite. I'd stay there again.

It is a beautiful building, tastefully appointed inside in the traditional country-inn style. The room was large and comfortable with a fridge, microwave and tableware. The location is within walking distance of the bustling center of Summit, also within easy drive to many natural attractions of north-central New Jersey. (NYC was not my goal, but there is a train station in the center of Summit.) Last but not least, both the management and the maintenance staff were very responsive and helpful in every situation. One little quibble: wifi level was not always very high.

It was not what I expected it to be. The room was very dated. There was a slight odor. I felt like I was sleeping at my grandmother's house in the 1950's. It seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. All the furniture was very dated.

I loved that they provided dishes and silverware for take out food. They also provided plenty of Keurig cups,creamers and sugar. They also provided wine glasses and an opener. Housekeeping was great and came every day. The lobby was beautiful and homey if you had visitors.

Beautiful room
We booked the room last minute as we were on a motorcycle trip and got caught in pouring rain. The host was quick to reply with directions to enter the house and locate room key. It was a beautiful room on the 3rd floor with everything we needed. Would stay there again if in the area.

Lovely 1892 Inn
our room was large and clean with multiple windows. My favorite feature was the bakery 800 ft away. We walked there every morning. A Minus was the parking lot which has such large potholes that my rental car hit "rock bottom". It needs to be re-paved. And the hallway carpets are in serious need of an update due to stains.

You can’t beat the location or the price. They changed the front door access code and didn’t notify us, so we had to phone to be able to get in after a long day on the road. I had called them a week or two before arrival and gave them our email address to make sure we got up to date arrival instructions.A few decaf coffee pads would have been helpful. We never saw the owners to ask for these. Even so, the room was comfortable and very quiet.

Great location and the room was just what I needed. This is an old residence, so you have to take that into consideration - for example, the bathroom is not what you might find at a boutique hotel in Miami, for example. That being said, the room was large and the location is immediately adjacent to downtown Summit. I was able to walk to the Summit Diner and the Peppercorn Coffee shop in about 5 minutes.
