Great location and room size - a bit dated
The staff was wonderful- the room was roomy but dates and had a strange musty smell. The heat was not a thermostat but simply on or off. But luckily we were able to crack a window for air. Oh and GREAT CENTRAL location!!

Nice place, would stay again.
This had an excellent location, walking distance to many high priority spots. Felt safe and nice. Room was spacious, and I appreciated the fridge and microwave, perfect for a small family. I have no complaints, but it didn't feel very fancy, for a 4 star hotel. Bedding/pillows were fine but not nice. An odd assortment of "soft white" and harsher "daylight" lighting gave the room a bit of a haphazard feel. I admit I'm fussy about lighting, but it's cheap and easy to do correctly. I would be happy to stay again for the right price.

Penthouse was lovely, we felt very special staying there. The elevators were super slow and tiny but I did see they’re doing renovations so hopefully that improves. Love the Lounge, that really helped when we arrived early and were able to relax while we waited for check in. The bath plug got stuck and we had to call guest services to arrange someone to help get the plug out and the person who answered sounded extremely annoyed we had bothered to call and interrupt him. That was a bit of a downer! Otherwise it was a very lovely stay and the rest of the staff were beautiful and very friendly.

We travelled to NYC from January 2 to 4 with 2 younger children (7&4). The location is great! The check-in service was quick. We arrived earlier than our check-in time and were told we would have to wait but the gentleman working there ended up finding a room for us right away. Our room was spacious. We did have to call the front desk to have the sofabed prepared as well as more towels for the 4 of us. The room and furniture does need a refresh. Overall, the noise level was great.

Booked based on recommendations seen online. It’s a great location being only a few blocks from broadway and Central Park. We had a room on a higher floor with a view looking on to the city. What lets it down. While spacious and generally clean, the room furnishings were tired. The kitchenette cupboard was falling apart, the bath tub took 10 minutes to drain, so you were standing up to your shins in water. Toilet cistern was super noisey in the ensuite and also took 5-10 minutes to refill. Compare with other places the sofa bed hadn’t been made up in advance. We were travelling with our child and having to rummage around in search of sheets and blankets at 11pm wasn’t ideal. Considering its rep as a 4 star property, the concierge and general staff were quite aloof to the point of rudeness even with basic inquiries. The exception were the staff working in the bar lounge area. Overall, worth it for the great location and general security. If you drop your expectations of what to expect in a 4 star hotel then you won’t be disappointed, but compared with equivalent 4 star hotels I’ve stayed throughout the USA and Europe it’s in need of some maintenance and some retraining particularly of the door men who seemed to be more interested in making fun of families struggling with luggage in winter at the entrance, then doing the task they’ve been employed to do

Appreciated the early check in and friendly welcome. Enjoyed the larger room and kitchenette, also the daily maid service. The room was a littly chilly, the pullout bed best for smaller children and it was a little noisy (windows not insulated and walls were a bit thin). Enjoyed the coffee as well. Good location!
