Great location! 1 block from the subway, a few blocks from Central Park. MANY great dining options. The bagel shop diagonal from The Lucern was great. Class Salvo for cappuccino and a cornetto (just like Italy). Jacob’s Pickles amazing southern breakfast/brunch. Maman for coffee and goodies. The Wolfe for a great happy hour, even 11pm till closing, kitchen closes at 11. So many dining options! The Lucern is an older property with great architecture you can’t go wrong. If I go back I will stay here again.

The location of this hotel is only matched by the quiet room I scored on the third floor towards the back of the building. The bed was really comfortable although the pillows were too thick and plump! The staff were helpful and always alert. The restaurant next door was convenient and the food good, though pricey, as is all of NYC. All in all I highly recommend this place — it’s a little dated in style and the lobby not a dream, but I like that kind of thing.

David and Jimmy at the FD were fantastic, I loved the restaurant, I tried several dishes and were all great. Breakfast was fantastic too. Very convenient location, will definitely come back.

Beautiful hotel. Safe neighborhood and so many amazing restaurants nearby. The staff were gracious and accommodating. We visited in October when hotel prices throughout the city were high. I am so glad we stayed in this hotel in a charming older building rather than in a generic new hotel. Oh, and amazing water pressure. Would stay again.

Hotel was built in 1911 a residence, but was turned into a hotel and continually updated to meet modern code. Room was exceptional, with a view of two streets in a corner room. Beds were firm, decor was perfect, and all staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient.

Nice hotel. The staff was helpful, the rooms very clean. It's an older building, but everything is pretty much up to date. It's conveniently located being just a block from a subway stop and the natural history museum, and a couple of blocks from Central Park. Good selection of restaurants in the area as well.
