Perfect for families
Perfect for our family! We traveled to nyc with 2 kids and this was a perfect place to stay. Walkable to Central Park and subway or cab to midtown. The hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms comfortable.

We had a Deluxe Queen Suite. It was the perfect size for the four of us. We loved the room - it was beautiful. The queen beds were comfortable and the room was nice and toasty. We made good use of the microwave and mini-fridge. The Lucerne is one block from a subway station and two blocks from Central Park. There is a nice deli market and a bagel shop just across the street. The front desk was very helpful every time we needed a cab or advice. The only complaint I had was the hair dryer was on its last legs. It barely blew any air. Other than that, we had a wonderful experience and would stay there again!

Away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square.
We were a family of 4 (2 teenage daughters), visiting the week before Christmas, stayed in a room with 2 Queen beds in the main room, a middle room which we used for suitcases and dressing and a bathroom. We wanted to stay away from Times Square area as we knew it would be super busy at Christmas time and we liked the idea of being able to just visit that area, but then experience another area of the city. The location of Lucerne gave us the escape from the madness and noise of midtown, but meant we were still ideally located to walk downtown or catch the subway (2 min walk) and get where we wanted very easily. Additionally, the closeness to Central Park meant we coult fit in some early morning jogs and explore there too. The Upper West Side seems like a very nice part of the city, more residential and felt more authentic NY than other parts of the city. The room was cleaned every day and for the small amount of time we spent in it (mainly asleep), it provided us with what we needed..comfy clean beds, clean towels and a lovely hot shower. Any small requests were accommodated, not that we needed much as we are quite self-sufficient. Overall, we would recommended this hotel if you don't mind walking and enjoy being away from the central, touristy areas, but knowing you can get to everywhere you want simply enough. The staff were friendly and pleasant enough. We did arrange a taxi through the hotel to take us to the airport, however we were let down and got a yellow!

Perfect, wonderful hotel
Was a beautiful hotel in a great location. We were surprised to get a two room suite that was clean and comfortable. Our reservation included breakfast at an adjacent restaurant, which we enjoyed. Highly recommend and we will plan to return for another stay. So happy with our choice. No complaints! Only comment is to be aware that hotel doesn’t have parking.
