Too many issues…
I have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it. I generally love Kimpton properties. But this stay wasn’t great. The hotel staff seemed flustered and too busy to be attentive. We asked for blankets bc our heat wasn’t working well. It took two days and 4 requests to get them. My niece froze at night, slept terribly, and had a rough two days bc of it. There is no coffee in the room and coffee service stops at 9 am. That’s just bad decision making. I don’t want to have to leave my room to get coffee. And I especially don’t want to have to get up by a certain time to get free coffee when paid $3k to stay here. When I would try and talk with staff, they were dismissive, quick to push me aside, and generally rude. The cable didn’t work well (it constantly paused and glitched) so I tried streaming. That didn’t work either. So, watching movies at night with the niece and nephew also wasn’t an option. We didn’t have hot water for an entire 18 hr period. I assumed it would fix itself and it never did. Super unideal. That’s a basic. All in all, it was fine. But I don’t choose this brand for fine. If things go wrong and the team jumps to help fix them, I can deal with it. But the staff seemed annoyed whenever I came to ask for help.

The Theta was a fantastic option for our holiday NYC stay. Great location, wonderful staff, lovely accommodations. Not a single complaint. I already booked the property again for our next trip to New York.

Great Place to Stay!
The basic 2 queen bed room size is small for 4 people IMO. I’ve stayed in other hotels in the same price range that were more roomy. The cleanliness of the hotel, its amenities and staff were great. The hotel overall gets 4 stars. Location is hard to beat for the price if you want to stay in Times Square/ Broadway. It’s close proximity to everything you want to experience there and is across the street from subway access to Uptown or Downtown. Compliments to the early morning bell hop. He was a pleasure to talk to and was very helpful getting us a ride to the train station at 5am.

The hotel is well located in midtown. Rooms are comfortable. I had stayed before. My last stay was much better. I was sharing a room with my best friend; she arrived earlier and was not allowed to check in because her name was not in the reservation, even when I said by phone and by email that she was my companion. I had to go through Expedia for her to be allowed to check in. The shower's faucet leaked. The bathroom sink's drainage was not letting the water go down easily and the sink flooded. Worst was that they ran out of water in the building and did not fix in the two days we stayed. We had to go out and buy are water bottles.

Very friendly & efficient staff. Room was very comfortable. Charge for early check in of $39 ( glad to be able to get into the room) Room was a connecting room and we could her the folks next door as if they were in the room with us. And they had a dog.

Fantastic property in a prime location just off time square and broadway. We loved the walkability, the room sizes and amenities. The hotel smells great, they have cool music playing in the lobby, and a quaint roof top restaurant/bar that we enjoyed. Not sure I'd ever stay anywhere else. Kimpton's are typically everything you want without the crazy pricetag!
