While I understand that Hyatt Place is the low end of the Hyatt-named hotels, this one disappointed in a few areas: 1. I reserved a "standard king" room. To say it was small is an understatement. I know prices are high in mid-town, but the bed nearly went from one side of the room to the other. 2. Given the number of rooms in the hotel, the amount of common space (lobby, lounge, other areas to sit) was insufficient. Also, use of the rear patio (with the door to it propped open) as an extension of the breakfast room in the middle of winter meant that both were quite chilly. On the flip side, the breakfast was extensive and tasty but by the time you found a place to sit and eat it, was mostly cold. (See #2 above.)

I would definitely stay at this Hyatt again because the accomadations from the beginning of our arrival, during our stay and after we checked out was almost excellent (they reminded us that they would store out bags if we wanted to continue exploring NYC). It was a quick checkin, my request for a certain room was givin to me, the room was beautifully updated, very clean and comfortable. And the service and breakfast variety was excellent. On a scale from 1-10, I would rate them a 9. The reason for the 9 is there is very little space for clothing storage. Thank you Hyatt for taking care of me and my family.

Convenient location and great staff
Very busy this time of year (christmas), so elevators and breakfast were packed. But staff was invariable helpful, friendly, and kind. We were traveling with an individual with disabilities, and they went out of their way to help.

The staff is amazing. The front desk personell were fun to be around. Everyone very friendly. Breakfast buffet was great. I would lose the big chair in the smaller rooms. It's cramped as it is.
