There is Shabby Chicinterior, but this was just Shabby. The rooms were not clean and the heating/cooling units did not work properly. When making inquires about extra services, the universal reply ( no matter what) was We shall try but we can't promise. My room key needed to be re-keyed no fewer than 4 times during my stay.

Overall 3/5 or maybe less. We stayed 3 nights and all 3 nights were unable to access the rooftop due to private events, okay cool, but mold/mildew in the room? Not a fan of that. Lobby is pretty and staff overall are friendly so that’s why the higher rating.

We really thought the cleaningness of the room was fantastic, everyday somebody would come in and tidy the place up, clean towels and sheets daily. The only issue was the air unit was kind of loud, not enough to keep us awake, but during watching TV. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay. We would recommend your hotel and if we came back to New York, we would stay there again.

The Good: Location, Price, and Staff The Bad: Noise from major street The Ugly: The Bathrooms We had a reservation for a room (327 I believe) with a king bed. The room was on a lower floor and the room was extremely small with a very small bathroom. In addition we had a window overlooking a major street so there was a lot of noise which made it hard for me to sleep. We ended up switching to a new interior room (1137) with windows facing apartments (no streets) which was much larger (room and bathroom) and had less noise. Now the main issue with this hotel is the bathrooms are extremely small with very little room to move around. The 327 room could barely fit one person and while the 1137 was larger the toilet area was still cramped. If you are someone of larger stature this may not be the place for you. Both had a rain shower head and a European style water wand. The controls consisted of one knob to control water hot/cold and a level to control water flow and it was difficult to consistently get the same water flow and temp each day. The staff was wonderful, offering good restaurant suggestions and accommodating our various requests including allowing us to go back to our old room to look for clothes my wife thought she left behind in the old room. I I ever get back to Manhattan I will probably look for a hotel on a quieter street a little farther south.

The property is in a great location but the room was horrible. Everything was old, the heat never worked, the thermostat was detached from the unit and wires were showing. Everything about the room was just old and so tight. We had two beds for 2 Adults and 2 kids and we had to walk over the luggage’s because there was literally no space.
