Responsive manager in nyc midtown hotel
This is a very convenient hotel with a great rooftop bar and free jazz several nights a week. We were thrilled to be able to check in early. Our only issue was the lack of hot water in our shower; however in checkout the hotel manager gave us a generous bill discount and offer to provide upgrades on a future visit. We were very grateful and will return.

Chic property with a great bar. Rooms are very small, no desk, chair or space to spread out except in bed. But clean and modern. To note - the restaurant, bar and rooftop don’t open until 5pm, so no food options or hang out area available during the day.

This was my 5th stay at the Civilian, and my GO TO place to stay in NYC. It’s close to the subway, great restaurants and walkable to Central Park, and Theater’s.

Beautiful hotel in a good walkable area. Cozy rooms are very small with not much storage, but is was a good looking room. No shower curtain/door, so the bathroom gets wet.

As usual for NYC, room was small, but cute and clean, with everything we needed. We were on 23rd floor, so we could hear the music of the nightclub (a few floors up) until 2 am. Not ideal. Rooftop bar was very cool! Service was great, location was convenient!

I can’t say enough good things about the staff and our overall stay at the Civilian during my daughter’s first trip to NYC. I had questions prior to checking in and the team was prompt, courteous, and kind in their responses! We dined at Rosevale, the hotel restaurant and it was fantastic! The service there was equally outstanding. We were close to the theatres which was a big reason for selecting this hotel- highly recommend! Thanks Civilian!

This is an amazing hotel. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly. The building is so nice. The location is great. The rooms are wonderful and do a perfect job of using the limited NY City space. The view from our room was incredible. And they even went out of their way to make our anniversary special. This is the kind of hotel where all the details are paid attention to, and it shows. I loved staying here and will again.
