It's very convenient as it is right next to train station but can be slightly noisy from the trains, however, there are many good things at the hotel cancel out this disadvantage e.g. free ice lollies

The location and facilities were excellent. Very peaceful even though it is close to the railway. The onsen was lovely (with ice lollies provided in the relaxation room). There was a large offering to choose at breakfast and the staff were very helpful and hard working.

We reserved the Hollywood twin which was SUPPOSED to be for two. We had to side-step to get to the bottom of the bed. Then sidestep and maneuver at the end of bed to get to the bathroom. The 3 foot ‘aisle’ between the end of the bed and counter that you had to pass to get to the bathroom also included 2 chairs and a small table. Very very small. Beware, if you ask to be placed on a lower floor you may get a view of a cement building approx. 6-8’ away. Just be aware space will be very tight! We are both < 76 years so it was disappointing cuz NOT what we expected given the photos we saw online! Other than that very clean.

My room right next to railway track. We could not sleep. Very noisy. No curtains for the windows. Light from outside luminating the room all night. Could not sleep. Room size is incredibly small.

Make sure you know what an onsen is.....
Do not stay here if you are not comfortable being totally naked in front of strangers! We booked this hotel for its hot spring baths not knowing that it was separate bathing for men and women because any type of clothing, or even a towel are not allowed in the hot spring bath area. I did not know this is the tradition in Japan.

Loved it!
It’s a different kind of hotel for westerners. It feels like a dormitory because at 9:30 you can go to the kitchen area and everybody can get a bowl of noodles for “free.” It’s very communal!

Had a great stay here on our stop at Nara! The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are clean and the bed was comfy. The spa is excellent, with outdoor and indoor baths. The midnight soba is delicious.
