This hotel looks like it was designed for people just passing through (truckers, sales people etc) not really tourists but it was fine. Small rooms, nice breakfast helpful staff, priced right.

Highway hotel at the edge of town - almost an hour walk from train station. Very friendly and helpful staff though who helps us forward our luggage while we walked the Nakisendo Trail. We found a small Ramon restaurant around the corner where a delightful woman of at least 80 years prepared dinner for us for a most reasonable price. We spoke to her and she to us using Japanese to English and English to Japanese translator apps. We tried the interesting appetizer she brought us. They tasted good and upon asking our host what is was, the translator said “That’s a bee’s child”. Enjoy the larvae and the ramen. We did.
Property is very nice, clean and staff are very polite and friendly. The breakfast was amazing. Unfortunately, when we booked there wasn’t non-smoke room available, so we had to stay in a smoke room.
Overall, very good. If I had to have a say for some improvement, I would say the location is inconvenient: it is a bit far from the station. It would be nicer if you have a couching service, etc. But the location is wonderful when you come by car. It is near motor way.

The location is good. However, the blanket was old.
Chose this hotel for its location near nakasendo trail. It’s 2 mins walk to a bus stop that leads to Nakatsugawa Station to connect to Magome. Everything was quite good, Room size and dinner at hotel satisfactory.
A basic hotel, adequate for a one night stop-over, more attention to dual language notices would make life easier for the non-Japanese traveler. 2020 is just around the corner, and Route-inn is a national chain.
A good hotel, very accommodating with the food which was cheap but good quality. We didn’t have a car which, if on foot, can be a problem as quite a trek to the town and taxis aren’t the easiest to get hold of...but hotel good for the price and a nice bonus onsen was great!

Good value, and exceeded expectation.
Great staff, No easy access from train station. I would stay here again.
Nice hotel with very helpful staff. Public baths are good (water is very warm for those new to baths) and laundry facilities. Rooms are a reasonable size with very hard beds. Kettle and tea/coffee and air mister. A little out of town but 100m from bus stop direct to Nakatsugawa train station from where you can catch another bus for the Nakasendo trail. Handy restaurants, sweet shop and convenience store all within 500m. Restaurant provides a good buffet breakfast and very reasonable priced dinner options suitable for all tastes.
30-minutes’ walk or a 1500-yen taxi ride from the station - or a bus ride, but buses are infrequent. Very handy if you’re coming by car as it’s just off Route 19. Nice onsen-style bath - great if you’ve been hiking the Nakasendo!

Great staff, very helpful and personable. Breakfast provided was good
We stayed at this hotel for one night in order to complete the Magome to Tsumago walk. We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The service was very good, the staff were very helpful and friendly. They had a map with exact directions of how to get into town by bus which was very helpful. Bus to town about 15min. The hotel itself is about 2.5-3kmkm from the main station. Taxi to the hotel was around 1500yen or so. There is not a huge amount of food options around the area except for the hotel restaurant, McDonalds down the road and a few other places. There is a supermarket in handy distance. Enjoyed my stay would stay again.
went to see the famous Edo-era Naka-Sendo road and most convenient location to stay was Nakatsugawa, just 5 mls from Magome and 9 miles from Tsumago, the 2 must see villages of the old road. Hotel itself in really good shape with - already known - small rooms but everything else from very curteous and helpful staff via breakfast and free parking to fast instant wifi very recommendable. All in all if we went there again would definitely stay there again.
