When you book they will tell you that this is not a resort but it is really good. Did not understand why they wrote that to me. You have a huge house just for yourself with amazing garden or beach view. You have a fan mosquito net and some dimmers to make the light less strong in case you want to have it more chill and romantic. The family is very friendly. Clean and tidy. I had flowers in the house when arrived and they made sure we had a great stay. Activities are okay. There is a rock about 50m out of the beach and there is nice snorkelling with corrals.

food not good
The accommodation was ok but the food could be improved. In Fiji I do not like to eat rice every day. That is not traditional fijian food. They have kumala, cassave, dalo, breatfruit which is much better and healthier. I also prefer to eat my chicken meat without bones.

Not at all as described or as photos! We didn't expect anything & knew this isn't a resort etc. however description & photos on Expedia are simply untrue. Currently cabins, main area, 'bar' looked nothing like this. The photos of the food? 4 days. Instant coffee, 3 pieces of toast pp, communal butter, strawberry jam each day (8-9am). You eat what you are given on your plate. Lunch & dinner was $20 per person per meal and was the same EACH time. A plate with: rice, a pile of boiled cabbage & carrots (often from the day or night before) a boiled root vegetable & either processed sausage or egg omelette. Once fish. Once a Lovo (earth oven) which was the above plus chicken. As per the description, there is no: grocery store, laundry, restaurant, drinks, in-room Wifi or wifi of any kind, no TV, bottle water, toiletries, fan, hair dryer. Did have cockroaches. You may or may not have a working shower, toilet or any kayaks. We are not fussy & even with all that would have been happy but be aware that there is no 'on the beach' snorkling here or friendly, caring staff, so there is nothing to do other than paid trips (2 choices), weather dependent. It's cheap, but the ferry to get there takes 5 hrs & is easily twice as expensive as a 5 day stay in the 'best' hut. What we ended up spending on transport, trips & food could have easily bought us a much nicer place with snorkling out front anywhere else. Why is the description and photos here so misleading? What a shame.

The little tender boat that came to collect us broke down about 5 minutes after getting us so we were left stranded in the very hot, humid conditions. He fixed it and we got going again for about another 2 minutes then ran out of fuel. He took out his phone, then put it away and asked if any of us had mobile. We didn't bother with sim cards as we were using this holiday to unplug, but fortunately the other passengers had data so were able to contact the lodge using whatsapp and let them know we were stranded. They then sent another boat to tow us, but it took about 30 minutes. When we arrived, they claimed not to have our booking. Fortunately I had the confirmation printed off and they had plenty of room to accommodate us. Another couple staying said the same thing happened to them. I think only the Air BnB bookings go through. It was almost 2pm and we were starving. They offered us lunch and then said the chef had gone home but we could go to the tea house at 3:30pm to get some cake. There's nothing else available. We were also told the afternoon activities get organised the day before so we missed those. As the following day was Sunday their church day, there would be no activities then either. They had such a good write up including nightly entertainment and lots of daily activities available. I don't know if it was bad timing, but we got almost none of this. Location was incredibly quiet, secluded & beautiful though. Bure was basic; a hose for a shower and flushing toilet

Dissapointing food, the staff seemed very unmotivated. We tried multiple times to do a activity but the staff repeatedly forgot and rescheduled untill we gave up.

Really basic accommodation but it is absolute beachfront and all bed linen is freshly washed. It's such a different experience here from the resorts so as long as you're not expecting 5 stars, you will hopefully love it as much as we did. The staff are so happy, funny and friendly. Their village and the locals there are lovely. You can have long, lazy days around your cabin or organise adventures nearby such as the caves. It's great to share meal times with the other guests and to chat about everyone's experiences. The boys love to party and are so much fun!!! We loved it!!!!

Just left after staying around 4 days at safe landing! Most likely the best trip of my life!!! The staff were excellent, so friendly and kind. They were so excellent, answering so many various questions we had about fiji and about what life in fiji is like. Activities were amazing and catered to what us ( the guests) wanted to do. The space the lodge is on is gorgeous, secluded and pristine. The water is crystal clear and quite shallow for a while which makes it nice for snorkeling further out. Lots of hammocks around the property perfect for reading on. Food was great too, big portions and interesting meals. The lodge is super social, a smaller lodge which is nice you get to know the other guests there quite well and it is like a little community. Clear that this place has been hit because of covid but still amazing stay, exactly what I excepted for an eco lodge. Excited to come back and see all the staff locations again and how to develops post pandemic! While we stayed there we got super close with another group guests who were staying and we’re able to do a lot of activities and eat meals with them every day which was awesome. Made some great connections. I can’t recommend this place more, it’s not an expensive resort but better due to the personal connections and relaxation realness of this place. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our visit so amazing, hope to be back ASAP

Dreadful. This beautiful location could be so much more if only the staff would do some work. Wrong room on the first night, no bed linen, then no towels the next day when we moved to our correct room, food choice was non existent and the service was horrific, grown adults treated like we were on a school camp. When we tried to get food from other establishments, when they new where we were staying they refused us service. We booked for 3 nights and only just coped with staying for 2.

Safe landing was as advertised, and was great for my 84 year old mother, my daughter and my Grandchildren to have a relaxing holiday. The Bures are in need of renovation, and the water in the bathroom is cold - but thats OK, as Fiji is so lovely and warm. The staff were welcoming and friendly, helping my mum in and out of the long boat for the Ferry transfers. The food was a bit limited, breakfast and lunch were the same each day with minor variations, and Dinner was varied, but there was always plenty and we didnt go hungry! The snokelling off the beach is a bit average - you have to walk or swim a fair way out at low tide, but there are kayaks to use if you prefer. The Village is close by, and they welcomed us for a visit. There are plenty of places to walk or hike on the Island if you like, or hammocks to lie in and relax.

Good overall
The location and people are superb! They sing to you during meals and when you arrive and leave. The tours they have are also great. However, The showers are cold and water not drinkable. A few people got sick or purchased expensive bottled water. They say they cater to vegans/vegetarians, but really its just stir fried onions, soy sauce, rice and Taro with fruit every day-nothing special and little protein. The rooms seem tidy, but a bit run down; however no bed bugs to be seen! I checked thoroughly after reading a 2011 review. Bring a water purifier like safe straw if you stay here. Its more glamping than a resort. But if you are a minimalist and want an authentic Fijian experience this is it.

The place was dirty and uncomfortable. There was no electricity or running water from sun up to sun down. The dining hall offered one meal option for breakfast lunch and dinner. The staff were rude and impatient and made me feel stupid anytime I had a question.

Unique and beautiful beach. Simple yet sufficent lodgings. Intermittent electricity/communal WiFi. True local experience, eat and live like a Fijian, NOT a resort like most other places in the yasawas.
