Cozy custom-built cabin - Lakeside

Enjoy our romantic treehouse nestled on a one hundred acre farm at Whispering Pines for a secluded get-away for couples. With all our friends in mind, entry is effortless with our ramp cement walkway and plenty of space for wheelchair and/or special needs access.

Upon entry, you will be amazed by the natural light through the large picture windows facing a lake. The kitchen, living and bedroom areas are all open spaces that flow together seamlessly with plenty of places to sit and relax. Enjoy puzzles, games or books for relaxing days while snuggled in front of a large stone gas fireplace. The laundry room, stocked with complimentary Tide-pods, is conveniently located in the bathroom. Browse through the Guestbook to discover wineries in Hermann & Augusta as well as other local attractions all within thirty minutes. The kitchen is stocked for your cooking needs with an oven, cooktop, microwave and refrigerator in addition to a Keurig with complimentary coffee (regular and decaffeinated), tea or hot chocolate.

While outside, you will love the stunning view of the lake and mature trees along with the peaceful sounds of nature. Turn on the string lights and soak in the hot tube while facing the lake for a relaxing evening. Feel free to hike on our private trails and enjoy all this beautiful property has to offer. Look for colored blazes to guide you on your path. Benches are placed in open areas to enjoy your surroundings. Outdoor games are conveniently located near the hot tub or spend the afternoon lounging in the hammock. Cook dinner on the propane grill for your BBQ needs or enjoy s’mores at the custom-built fire pit with our complimentary firewood. S’more kits are provided and are a must for every campfire.

Our farm is nestled between the cities of Hermann and Jonesburg where you can enjoy wineries and other seasonal attractions. Indian Camp Creek Park, Little Lost Creek Conservation Area, the Daniel Boone Conservation Area and the Katy Trail are located nearby for the outdoor lovers.

There is limited cellphone service, no Wifi or television at Whispering Pines with the intention to allow our guests to relax and reconnect with nature. We strive to provide all your needs during your stay.

This is the perfect location for your proposal, honeymoon or birthday celebration.

Blissful Stay
Whispering Pines is such a beautiful property nestled in the trees. We can’t say enough about our stay. Such fine accommodations and attention to details that really matter to guests. We found ourselves mesmerized by all of the birds visiting the feeder in our front row seats looking through the amazing wall of windows. The hot tub, couple’s shower, comfortable king sized bed and so many other details made our stay extra special. If you decide to take the short scenic drive to Hermann, stop by 4th Street Pizza for delicious pizza and then head to The Piano Bar for drinks and fun. Thank you to Wendy and the Whispering Pines team for our wonderful weekend away! Definitely adding this property to the top of our favorites list.

It’s hard to find the words to describe the week my partner and I spent here. For the last 6 years we take an annual getaway to disconnect from the busyness of life and reconnect with nature and ourselves. Out of all these getaways, Wendy’s cabin provided the best respite. It is nearly sound proof…so much do that we could see a truck driving on the gravel road but could not hear it. We saw so many birds, turtles, and frogs!! The hiking trail was phenomenal…it was so great not to have to drive somewhere to hike. We relaxed in the hot tub daily and enjoyed the fire pit nightly. The cedar logs provided by the hosts were a treat as they made the fire smell wonderful! The amount of rest, relaxation, and restoration this cabin provided was beyond our expectations. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for creating and sharing an opportunity to recharge in a beautiful environment! I look forward to coming back!

We had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend at the cabin. The cabin feels new. It was clean, had a comfortable bed, and a well stocked kitchen. Extras like coffee, sparkling, water, popcorn, s’mores were nice touches. We enjoyed the hot tub, the bonfire, and an abundance of nature.

The hosts have done an outstanding job with this cozy cabin nestled in the woods. My husband & I enjoyed relaxing and disconnecting from our devices. Bird watching, outdoor games & soaking in the hot tub were just what we needed. The hosts have put a lot of thought into the amenities allowing us to pack light. We enjoyed a short drive to Hermann to explore the food and drink. We loved the Tin Mill Brewery! If you have an opportunity, rent an e bike and explore the Katy Trail. We loved the “cabin” it’s really a beautiful little home. So many highlights! a king size bed and huge windows, singing frogs, little fridge, all the kitchen you might need, outdoor grill, hot tub, fire ring, and 5 star shower. Awesome!

Cabin was very clean & nice. They were easy to talk to if we had any questions etc. I personally shoulda looked closer at no TV & No WiFi. Giant sports fans & wanted to watch March Madness games. But again, that’s on me for not realizing they didn’t offer. If you want off the grid & relaxing. It’s the place for you.

My husband and I stayed here for our 35th wedding anniversary. The cabin is gorgeous. Favorite part was the huge windows with the few of a pond, trees and a bird feeder. Loved the gas fireplace. The fire pit was awesome not to mention the hot tub. Will definitely be back.

We wanted a place within a couple of hours of home to relax and rest after our son's wedding. This was ideal. From the modern architecture to the thoughtful extras in the kitchen, lovely hot tub to the awesome hiking trail, it was perfect. We also loved the amazing bank of windows to view the woods and pond.

Wonderful Cabin
This place is a real hidden gem. The cabin itself is very beautifully decorated and is very cozy. The property has wonderful hiking trails that are marked so it's very easy to figure out. Additionally, it's a very easy drive to Hermann, MO. The hot tub on the property is also a great touch. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
