Great Location, But Disappointing Service

I stayed at Hotel Cortiina recently and, while the location was excellent and the bed comfortable, my overall experience was overshadowed by poor service and unacceptable behavior. On multiple occasions, I encountered rude and racist attitudes from staff. During breakfast, one server was dismissive and unprofessional—when I opened the menu simply to confirm the exact name of my order (which I already knew), she abruptly said she was too busy and couldn’t wait. At dinner, the attitude of the staff was similar, which led us to stop dining there after the first two nights. Additionally, one of the receptionists—a short man with a beard—was extremely rude and came across as discriminatory. For a hotel of this standard, such behavior is shocking and unacceptable. Accessibility was also an issue, as the tub was unusually high and difficult to use safely. Overall, while the property’s location is ideal and the rooms are comfortable, the negative experiences with staff behavior and accessibility issues far outweighed the positives.

Great Location but racist attitude

The location of the hotel is excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the service experience left a lot to be desired. During our stay, we faced racist attitudes from some of the staff. On the first two nights, we tried dining in the hotel, but the behavior of the dinner staff made us uncomfortable, and we stopped eating there afterward. At breakfast, one of the servers was extremely rude — as soon as I opened the menu, she told me it was too busy and she didn’t have time to wait if I was still deciding. In reality, I was ready with my order and had only opened the menu to quote the exact dish name. Additionally, one of the reception staff members (a short man with a beard) was not only unhelpful but also rude and displayed discriminatory behavior. Accessibility is also poor, with very high bathtubs that are not convenient or safe for everyone. While the location and room comfort were good, the discriminatory attitudes and poor customer service overshadowed the positives.

Please Be Aware

The front desk people were very friendly and helpful! The hotel overall seemed clean. However, the room deodorizer used in the hallways, was very strong, almost nauseating and the hallways were so dimly lit that we had to use the flashlight on our cell phone to unlock the door.. Please be aware that there is only a partial glass door on the tub so when you shower, the water goes everywhere and makes the floor slippery! The sink vanity is also narrow so water easily gets everywhere. The room was large enough, but the desk area was very narrow. The room had a bench which was helpful so we had a place to put a suitcase. A luggage rack would’ve been helpful as well.FYI there is a strip club across the street which may be offensive to some.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and well appointed. It was very to walk to attractions and great restaurants. The staff were very helpful and accommodating with good recommendations. There was a little confusion over when the breakfast ended so we did end up missing it one day. Clean, modern, spacious double deluxe room for 3 of us. Had a small kitchenette which was convenient, and a walk-in closet provided ample storage. I really appreciated how quiet our room was, and that it had a sliding door you could open for fresh air. Personally, I also liked the lighter/thinner blankets, and flatter pillows, which were perfect for me. Area is super walkable with everything close by.

Great memories of Munich

We had a wonderful stay at the Cortina! The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean and the Hotel location was close to many areas we wanted to see. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others especially those traveling with families.

Family and business stay - cortiina was beautiful!

The staff was amazing! They helped us switch rooms a few times because our AC didn’t work. I did notice the AC in the rooms that were at the end of the corridors had weak AC compared to those at the beginning of the halls. The breakfast was great with a great variety of food choices and their fresh juice options were phenomenal! The Carrot-Apple-ginger fresh juice was our favorite! This hotel was the perfect walking distance from great restaurants and the Marienplatz.
