Exuding tropical character, the Posada Hibisco cottagehas access to a full kitchen, a private bath, cozy living and dining areas, and oceanfront deck with Mompiche's best view of the point & surf break. Posada Hibisco comfortably sleeps ten in four different bedrooms, with free parking andwifi available throughout the entire lush property. With the jungle as your backyard, you'll have plenty of opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and exploring the exotic flora and fauna of the area. You might even catch a glimpse of some of the local wildlife, such as monkeys, iguanas, butterflies, and colorful tropical birds.

Please note that the Main Kitchen and Terrace are shared spaces, and accessible by all guests of Posada Hibisco.
Many rooms of Posada Hibisco require guests to climb stairs to access the bedrooms and the kitchen/dining area. Additionally, several rooms are designed so that their private bathrooms are accessible by an outdoor entrance. Feel free to contact us to determine which room best fits your accessibility needs.
For guests sensitive to noise, please note that as along the entire Ecuadorian coast, street noise can be unpredictable - we provide earplugs just in case for the light sleepers out there.
Check-in is from 2:00pm - 7:00 pm. If you need to check in later, please let us know and it can be arranged. There will be an extra fee of $10.00 associated with an arrival any time after 7:00pm - 12:00 am. Check-in later than 12:00 am cannot be accommodated until the next morning, so if this is your case, it is wise to edit your booking to include the day prior.

The tiny fishing village of Mompiche has only recently been "discovered" for its world-class surfing point-- producing the longest warm-water left in South America. As a result, it still retains much of the rich Afro-ecuadorian culture that makes Esmeraldas Province such a memorable experience for visitors. Nestled at the southern end of a gorgeous crescent bay and surrounded by the jungles of Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve, adventures for nature-lovers are endless here.

Getting Around
Unlike other hostels or rentals which can require a drive into town, you can get anywhere in downtown from Posada Hibisco in about 15 minutes.Everything in Mompiche can be easily accessed by foot. The town consists of a friendly village that takes approximately 5 minutes to cross, the surf point that made Mompiche famous is a 5-10 minute walk past colorful fishing boats down a beautiful tropical beach, and mile upon mile of picturesque oceanfront hikes are available for exploring both to the north and south of Mompiche proper.
