This is an older hotel that I understand used to be family owned. It is now owned by foreigners that also bought the Truck Stop next to it. Check in was slow, hard to understand the desk person. The hotel was convenient though to the cute little town of Mayberry, clean enough, and a convenient midway stop when heading to the beach.

We stay at The Bryson every summer on our way to the beach and it's always nice and convenient to our route. Our only disappointment this year was that the restaurant across the road has become one our favorites and it was closed due to remodeling apparently.

Didn’t check I’d, We left as they were unprepared. Key did work, when the clerk fixed the key and door opened it was not ready, used but unmade beds. Didn’t enter room. Didn’t trust or feel safe at location. Please don’t make me repeat myself a third time.

Unfortunately, the facility is showing its age. Room 216 has an empty front section and only one chair to sit in. The heating/cooling unit doesn’t reach the sleeping area making it necessary to run the unit at max. Your eating area is too small for the number of units. On Sunday you had a loss of hot water.

Avoid this place if you can!
Don't stay here if you can help it! I can't believe they even sold us the room they did. We couldn't even open the door to our room without getting help from the receptionist, who took at least 6 tries as well. Then he proceeded to tell us just to leave the door open whenever we had to leave the room and said "It's safe, we have security cameras". The room itself was decent and pretty clean. The breakfast was sufficient, but a little unsanitary. Things like milk and cream cheese were not single serve. Staff had a bad attitude. If we had an option of staying somewhere else we would have. Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Avoid this place if you can!

The room had a terrible smell and there was no hand soap for the bathroom sink. The toilet was dirty and took a long time to flush. Wasn’t comfortable and left 2 hours after we got there. By the way, no one at the desk when I returned the key to talk to.

This place was clean & I felt safe. The bed was very comfortable. There are no frills here - it’s perfect for an overnight stay on a road trip. I would stay here again. Good price.
