Opened July 19, 2018! Hawks Cottage was built in 1924 and is centrally located just a few blocks (a short walk) from historic downtown "Mayberry", The Andy Griffith Museum and Wally's Service Station! Relax and enjoy fireflies and warm evenings around the Firepit while roasting "Smores" in the Huge backyard! Let the feel of an old southern home in a friendly town bring you back to the good 'ol days. (Rental includes the entire Upstairs area. This will also include access to the back yard fire pit and outdoor area once complete)
This vacation home's location gets good marks from our customers. During your stay, you're just a quick walk from The Andy Griffith Museum. Free WiFi and a kitchen are available in the vacation home.

Anniversary getaway
We absolutely loved our stay. Beautiful home. Beautiful location. We walked downtown each morning for coffee. Took a short drive to the Parkway to see the fall leaves. The whole experience was great.

Disappointed. Listing inaccurate
Did not say 2nd floor. TV was not working. No books no number for host. Tried to contact via VRBO and responded approximately 20 hours later. Unit was partially restored, clean but I felt wiring was suspect. Packed and left after 1 night. requested refund for 3 nights that I didn’t stay was never acknowledged.

All aspects of our stay was favorable. This was our first rental of a house, and it was great! Referbished upstairs house, plenty of room. All amenities provided , if/when when we come back will will book here and with VEBO!

We were a little disappointed at first because the upstairs wasn’t allowed access to the front porch but the owner worked it out. We enjoyed our stay The living room furniture could have been a little more comfortable for my husband but we made it work

We really enjoyed our stay. The only down fall was there was no way to turn on the porch lights from the upstairs unit. We had to use our cell phones as lights for coming in after dark. I would have been nice to been able to enjoy to amazing porch more with lighting.

I was traveling with a group of senior ladies all family and thought they would enjoy staying in this charming home. Upon arrival I was so excited to see that it looked just like the picture. Got the key out of the lock box no problem. Then discovered it was to the upstairs. I had purposely rented the downstairs due to not being able to get everyone up and down the stairs. Admittedly I was upset. After connecting the owner he told me the down stairs was available so he cleared up everything very quickly! The house was very clean and cozy! We loved it and would definitely stay again!! Thank you for such a quick response!! Donna

Great Visit to Mayberry
This house was definitely beautiful and has been renovated nicely. My family enjoyed our stay in the upstairs of this house. The beds were comfortable and we loved the extra locks on the doors to help direct our children. The kitchen had all we needed and we were a close walk to town to come and go as needed. My only complaint would be the living room furniture, we found that very cute, but uncomfortable. Fieldyn was great to communicate with.

Nice little spot, easy walk to main street
This was a nice spot, easy walk up to main street. It's an old house but made decent for rental. Had everything we needed. It was like the owners took the time to live there and put hooks in the bathroom and things to cook with and the appliances are all new. the Fridge big. Had trash bags, cleaning stuff, washer, dryer are newer. TV was great, puts you into guest mode where you can login to Roku and your Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc and it locks it out after your stay. Couch bed actually had everything you needed in it to make a proper bed. Beds are firm memory foam. Worked out good for us.

Girl's Birthday Celebration
A group of friends met up in Mt Airy to celebrate all of us turning 40 this year. The location of the house was perfect and quiet. We attended a concert at the amphitheater that was within walking distance, was able to walk to Wally's to ride in the Andy Griffith patrol car, enjoyed walking and shopping downtown, and went to a winery for a wine tasting and lunch. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was beautifully decorated. Check in and out was a breeze and we all are looking forward to coming back again. Thank you so much!

Upstairs or downstairs. Great place
Rented entire house with some friends. Just a great place. Upstairs a bit nicer than down. But downstairs offers beat access to wrap around porch. Will return here. If you’re going to visit this is a great option that I would not pass up.

We loved the vibe of an old house design. Easy access on the front porch to climb the inside stairs. Nice wood floors and layout. Such a charming place and is a few minutes walk to downtown shops and restaurants.
