Great location. Spacious. Nice kitchen.

We booked the room with 3 queen beds and a kitchen. The location was great. It is right in the heart of Vieux Montreal and a short walk to the subway. It was very spacious for the 4 of us that stayed there. 6 people could comfortably stay there, so long as they would share a queen bed with someone else. One of the beds is in a separate room, so my partner and I slept there, and it provided some privacy. Our 2 children each got their own queen bed in the space shared with the kitchen. The beds, pillows, and bedding were comfortable. The kitchen was very large for a hotel room. It had a large fridge with a lower freezer, a ceramic range, a large oven, a dishwasher, and a good size sink with a sprayer faucet. There was also a toaster, electric kettle, and a coffee maker. There is also a clothing washer and dryer. There was a good amount of plates, bowls, and utensils. There was also a small pot, a medium pot, a strainer, and a cutting board. The bathroom was a very good size with a walk-in shower that could fit two people. Shampoo, hand soap, toilet paper, and towels were included. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but we had some issues. The kitchen faucet was loose. There were very minimal supplies. No dish soap, paper towels, baking sheet, foil, or laundry detergent. There was only one dishwasher detergent, so we were only able to run it once on our 5 night stay. No lighting in the private bedroom closet, so we had to use the flashlight on our phones at night.

I would not recommend staying here. There was no toilet paper when we arrived and the management was not responsive. They said they ran out and would deliver it first thing the next morning. They never delivered it and we had to track down cleaning crew to get them to give us the toiletries we needed. While they were super responsive and slow the entire time we were there, cleaning crews entered our room before our check out time to strip beds. On top of that the building smelled weird and the halls were dirty. It was not as advertised nor worth what we paid.

Place was clean and big. Family of six fit easily. Location couldn't be better in Old Montreal with shopping, dining activities all a short walk. Only think is it's in a tough spot to unload on a busy day. Plenty of parking over at the pier (we parked for 2 days at the science museum pier no problem). I would pack light so I would just park and walk everything over. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice room, spacious with perfect location; HOWEVER, the internet was ALWAYS going out so not a place for anyone who needs to work. One of the beds had to be pieced together because the boards under the mattress were broken. There’s no desk or staff to communicate with so if there’s a problem, you won’t get a response from anyone

Nice property. Just in the middle of old Montreal close to every thing . Comfortable beds clean room. What is really needed is someone who can be contacted directly since this place do not have a front desk.

It's obvious that management don't look at feedback and act on it. Previous occupants this month mentioned that the TV remote didn't work and that there was a smell in the bathroom. Both those things were still true when we were there, so disappointing that things aren't being fixed when reported. The lighting was really poor in the flat and when we reported it we were asked to provide pictures of it, however, we never heard back and nobody came to put new light bulbs in. The smell in the bathroom was bad though - it was like a sewer smell and could be smelled from the bedroom, as it had an ensuite door access to it. Although toilet paper and shampoo were provided, there wasn't any hand soap available. It also comes with a kitchen but very little cutlery was provided, so not really ideal for cooking. The two good things I'll mention were the location and the beds, however, I don't believe that's enough to recommend the place.

The location is fantastic. Literally next to Notre-Dame with tons of dining and entertainment options. With that said. We did have 2 big issues with this property: The condition of the rooms, they need some deep cleaning and maintenance. The coffee pot was honestly gross, there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom. Also the TV remote did not have fresh batteries or a cover on it. The other problem was that there were always multiple people at the entrance waiting to get in. It was very uncomfortable because when you enter the code to open the door, they also go in the building with you and you don’t know if they are guests or what. It made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe.

The Le Merrill is in a fantastic location in the heart of Old Montreal. It was very clean and had the minimal kitchen and bath necessities for our stay. Be aware that our unit had no microwave or coffeemaker, but did have an electric kettle, fridge, dishwasher, and stove/oven. Cooking equipment was minimal — no pans suitable for use in an oven. Beds were comfortable and heat and A/C both worked well. The in-unit washer/dryer was nice to have. We would stay here again but come better prepared with dishwasher tablets, laundry soap and a small bottle of dish soap. I would recommend the Le Merrill.

There was a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet. This was on the second floor. Maybe higher floors didn't have this issue. Otherwise the room was big, clean and tidy. But the smell was awful. I don't think the property owners can do anything about it.

Great location, lovely old building, comfortable bed. Really poor communication with host - whoever that is - we never got to speak to an actual person. No towels, toiletries, laundry powder when we arrived, old food in the fridge and a broken blind. Let the management company know who fixed the blind but nothing else. The apartment had an unpleasant smell by the door- it needs some maintenance (rotting skirting board in the shower) and the bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. Overpriced for what it is.
