Great aesthetic hotel but we had a problem with the plumbing. The hotel sent staff to see what they could do but in the end the leaky pipes just stayed as is until the end of our stay. It also took awhile for hotel staff to get to our room despite our booking being during the weekday.

Room was very clean and beds are comfortable. I give it 4 stars only for cleanliness and the carpet is quite old. Breakfast was simple but very good. Area felt very safe. Valet parking was reasonable.

We stayed in a beautiful king suite, so much character! Would definitely stay again. Not very accessible though (stairs only, no ramps) so keep that in mind as it's a stately old hotel.

I paid extra for the suite to treat myself. Immediately, I noticed the room was dirty— mold in the jets of the bathtub, leftover wrappers from the last guest in the closet, food left in the refrigerator from the last guest. A housekeeper came in to take it out and they didn’t even sanitize the fridge. There was a hair left inside the bed when I initially got there. I was never refunded partially for any of this, even though the staff said I would. It’s a beautiful property, but it’s clearly run by non-professional people. Really disappointing.

It's a solid 3 star hotel in beaten up condition. Don't let the name of the hotel fool you - it's not a palace. Breakfast was quite good, surprisingly. Staff at the desk were helpful.

Great hotel at a great location
Great location and a spacious room. I had stayed at this hotel 15 years ago. Back then I had a room on the third floor (small room). This time I had a room on the first floor (double the space). The breakfast is great to have (unfortunately no quiche anymore). The breakfast tables are small. We were three people, and that doesn't fit. Instead of round tables, it would help to have square tables that could get connected. Walking to the old port is a bit far, but there is great public transit.

A very quaint hotel. Would stay there again. I was in a basement room though so would prefer an upper floor next time.
