Highlight of our Trip!
The hotel is blocks away from shopping and restaurants but I did not realize the street in front is a good incline if you wanted to stay parked and go back and forth on foot. My 71 year old mother did okay walking it, just took our time. Other than that, even though we enjoyed Carmel and Monterey, we both felt the hotel was the highlight of our 3 night stay. We loved the breakfasts- fresh and delicious and attentively presented, loved getting to make our selection and the gentle knock at the door when it was dropped off, how friendly the staff was, complementary cookies and spa water, the beautiful grounds and rooms. It was a quiet and peaceful location. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms nicely “freshened up” each day. We really missed Tradewinds when we checked out, and hope to return again soon. They set the bar very high for an affordable boutique hotel experience!!

Absolutely loved this hotel. Room was beautiful, balcony was perfect, breakfast was yummy and brought in a basket to our room every morning. Very convenient location to everything. No AC but even in August it was chilly enough that this was no problem.

This is a beautiful hotel! We loved it and will stay again. But next time, we will stay on the top floor. This time, we stayed on the first floor. We could hear every footstep in the room above.

Pros: Nice hotel with good size rooms. Loved the included breakfast being brought to our door every morning. Walkable to many restaurants. Con: The only negative is that when staying on the ground floor you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor does. Next time I would ensure I got a top floor room.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Location, Staff, THE most comfortable and clean beds, and the breakfast. It’s not a trendy looking property but everything that encompasses a great stay at a hotel Tradewinds nailed it. I would stay here again and again.

Clean, conveniently located with wonderful staff. A basket breakfast delivered to your door each morning and within a few minutes of the business district in Carmel by the Sea. The downstairs rooms do have some noise from the upstairs neighbors, so if you can get a top floor room, I would suggest it if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise, lovely rooms, fireplaces, balconies and a relaxing space.
