This hotel is charming, conveniently situated near coffee shops, restaurants, tourist shops and more. Parking is available very close by. I stay here every few months and it never disappoints!

Historic, charming hotel in Old Monterey conveniently located to many restaurants, shopping and the Golden State Theatre. Although the room and bathroom were not very spacious because of its historic nature, it was clean and we had a great night's rest. Staff was friendly and there is a grab-and-go breakfast (mainly fruits, coffee and tea.) Would definitely stay again if back in the area for its charm and convenient location.

This is a great stay at a local hotel with reasonable prices. It is conveniently located directly on Alvarado Street, the main street of Monterey and within walking distance of Del Monte Beach, the Monterey Wharf, and Cannery Row. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly, and it has charm.

Property is located perfectly in downtown walking distance to a lot of places. Keep in mind you need to park off property which was very close anyway. A little outdated but it didn't bother us. Will stay again.

NOISY
This is a charming hotel but our room faced directly onto Alvarado and that was a PROBLEM. It was extremely loud at 7pm and I told the front desk we were not comfortable. We are 60, not 22 so we were miserable because their windows are vintage so there is no soundproofing. The noise from the bars and restaurants lasted until 2 am. I doubt we will go back because it is too noisy.
