“Under construction” but okay
I didn’t realize the hotel was under construction when I chose to book. The lobby looked a little run down and then I saw a sign stating they were under construction. The pool was also closed. I took it for what it was as I wasn’t going to be hanging out there and just sleeping/showering. It was nice there was a microwave and fridge. My key stopped working when I came back late at night and had to go back down to the front desk to activate—the front desk employee was apologetic and kind. The bed was a bit worn down and not very comfortable. The shower did not get hot and we took luke warm showers the next morning. It was too far into our stay and we were on a schedule to leave to move rooms or ask for assistance. The shower knob was missing as well so we couldn’t really tinker with it. Had I noticed sooner/at check in, I may have asked to switch rooms. Overall it seemed clean though and smelled fine. When comparing it to others at that price point, it could have been better. Hopefully the renovations will take care of these issues—in the meantime I would have probably chosen to stay elsewhere with a similar rate had I known.
