Buckwild Cabin; Au Sable river/Kirtland Warbler/BullGap/Wolf Creek/UTV/Kayaking

BuckWild cabin. Within hiking distance of Au Sable River with it's world class waters and Quality fishing trophy rainbow and brown trout / Hunting/ Canoeing and Kayaking/ BullGap ORV/ UTV/ Hiking/ Biking/ Wolf Creek frontage/ Birding -- famous Kirtland's Warbler spring/summer nesting and yes they are real. Authentic Rustic Cedar Log -PermaLog Cabin. Very peaceful cedar and pine private acreage. Large campfire pit. BuckWild IS EXTREMELY rustic...NO HEAT and NO AC other than a small space heater and a box fan provided. bring the woollies Just in case... Also note there is a pet fee....and this is a dog friendly cabin. So sorry ....but cats are not allowed. Fireplace is beautiful, and is fully operational. Enough wood is supplied for 1 fire per day. We are still improving the fireplace from inside out and top to bottom. I also post a video for you to view with your own eyes..... https://youtu.be/BISICwXF8eM

a new addition! Da Bear has been sighted in yard....watch this video. https://youtu.be/bYB_1X4ZLwY This authentic permalog cabin is as close to nature as you get short of sleeping in a tent yet still has a brand new modern hot shower and full kitchen.

If you like the critters of the forest...you are in luck! lots of turkeys/squirrels/deer/porcupine/100 different kinds of birds/even the healthy dose of bugs( pro tip: bring your best DEET product...you will thank me later) and there are even bats...I swear they don't attack people. More rare is BigFoot and the elusive chupacabras. legendary beasts to be sure and they are kid friendly. So be ready to explore these mysteries and legends and be immersed into everything this natural wonder has to offer... The HMNF (Huron Manistee National Forest) is literally just several steps out the door

All new for 2023: brand new and expanded bathroom. No more dingey standup shower stall. 32x60 shower with modern fixtures and new oak floor. It is fabulous and far more spacious for your most discerning guests. And yes the 18 gallon water heater was trashed in favor of a gas fired on demand whole house unit....enabling us to utilize a future antique clawfoot tub (hopefully by spring 2025. as of today's date this tub is still on the drawing board) in addition to an unlimited supply of the best northern Michigan hot water in both the tub and shower simultaneously if desired. I promise this shower is the best one in town. No more 3 to 5 minute showers. Anticipation!

New for 2024. joining the modern Era in a small way.....added a smart TV for those wanting to stream. wifi is online. also updating kitchen countertop and sink... wait til you see this splashy update.

Additional note....please be accurate on reservations. The 150 per night is for 2 persons. All additional persons are 35 each per night. And dog fees are additional as well.

Additionally, The indoor space is protected by a very fancy smart wifi connected smoke and CO2 detector for your safety. Security is provided via 7 outdoor cameras. access is easy. we are also easily accessible should you need anything at all. we are often there on-site in next door cabin. stop by to say hello

Anniversary Getaway
I rented for my parents 50th Anniversary. They absolutely loved the location and the cabin. They love rustic, quiet places with the up north feel. They said it was a comfortable and peaceful stay. The property was beautiful and they loved the smell of the pines. Lot's of walking trails and things to do in nature. The host was incredibly accommodating and made them feel welcome. Thank you for providing a wonderful weekend for my parents!

Great meeting place for a weekend with old friends
Visited the Buckwild cabin in Mio to meet with old friends. Enjoyed local activities, but also enjoyed many hours around the cabin's camp fire. Nice and cozy cabin. Welcoming and very communicative host. Great weekend.

This is a quaint rustic cabin reminicent of early 20th century. Nice and quiet on the edge of a northern Michigan town named Mio. The host is top notch and attentive to every need and question from his guests.

Definitely coming back!
We had a great time!!! The bed was a queen size and it was very clean and comforable. We had very warm showers too. There was plenty to do as it's close to Bull Gap , Wolf Creek, an the Ausable River. The hosts were very hospitable. They surprised us with kabobs for supper one night and the next night invited us to listen to music, talk, and have a couple of drinks in their Party Barn that they are currently working on. This place is perfect for a couple and we are definitely going back. The only suggestion that I have is that it needs to have curtains in the living room.

Long Weekend
It was a rustic and relaxing setting. The neighbor across the road was very friendly and made our children and us feel welcomed. A good break to disconnect and relax for a couple of days.

Would not stay again
Pictures of this property are deceiving!! We were warned it was rustic and we were fine with that, but rustic does not mean filthy. It was horribly dirty and gross. Also none of the windows are covered, no curtains or blinds and there were people at the cabin next door, very creepy and uncomfortable having people being able to look in. The sheets on the bed were clean but that was about it, the rest of the place was covered in dust and cobwebs and just filthy. Very very run down. Furniture inside the cabin was pretty cool and the decorations in cabin were cool but we could just not get past the filth. I couldn't even bring myself to shower at this place, 😩 bugs everywhere. Horrible experience. I do not recommend.
