Late arrival

I arrived at the hotel a day late, I was sure this wasn't a problem as I had paid for two nights so it was me being out of pocket. A very close friend of mine had went into labour and I spent the first night in a hospital, I rang the hotel to inform them, when I arrived at the hotel they had said my booking had been cancelled, they quickly fixed this problem! I had paid for a double bed and received two single beds, felt like I was thirteen again! A lot of hassle to organise the Internet in the room! I had previously stated at the Mercure abbey hill, I'd sooner pay the little extra for the extra knowledge and accommodation they provide to each customer.

good location and value for money

Hotel is in a great location and is adequate for what we were looking for in somewhere clean and comfortable to change and sleep. Rooms are basic but do the job. Not somewhere is choose for a romantic night away and our room overlooked some of the bars so was a bit noisy but after many cocktails we had no trouble sleeping through it!

Perfect Location

We were staying at the hotel as we were going out with friends for food and drinks. Ideally located for bars and restaurants. We had a problem checking in as the hotel said we had not paid, which we had through this website. However, I paid again, then spent the next two days trying to get my payment back. I rang the hotel on two occasions and spoke to three members of staff who were not helpful and I found them to be very rude. I had to email twice and they eventually responded to say they will refund me. At no point in the three phone calls or email has the hotel apologised for charging me on Saturday. I think the staff may require some customer services training as I think as this was purely the hotels fault the least they could do is apologise. I have to say the staff at the hotel on Saturday were lovely and helpful - other than charging me!

Good location for a night out

We only stayed for one night as somewhere to collapse after a night out. The hotel was clean, staff friendly enough, overall just what we needed. We didn't use the restaurant or bar at all so can't comment. There is a Wetherspoons Pub just next door so there was no problem getting cheap food and drink. The car park was a bit tricky as I had to leave the car outside reception, run in to pay £10 parking fee to get a permit and password to get into the multi-storey next door. The permit was for an allocated bay on level 3. It wasn't too bad if you know in advance what to do, luckily I'd been there before. Overall I was pleased with price and the level of comfort and would return for another night out.

Not impressed...

Facilities available for the price you pay is poor in comparison to similar hotels nearby. The room we were 'upgraded' to was very basic and empty, we were put into a disabled room which we were not told about, we also had no towels in our rooms, both us and our friends had this problem. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Don't bother

When I checked in and when I returned from eating out none of the three staff who served me showed any interest in me at all. Not a smile, not a welcome, no bothering to interrupt a chat with a mate - all ill-bred and discourteous. There's more to a hotel stay than just the room - someone should tell them that.

Wouldn't stay here again

Stayed here previously and decided to try it again. Most likely won't stay here again. Booked in on a Friday evening, the aircon/heating wouldn't work. When I went to the desk about it we were eventually told that it wouldn't be fixed until Monday ! We were given a heater for the room. The room to ages to hear up and was freezing cold everytime we returned to it. Every night we were woke by people socialising around pubs nearby. We woke at 6:30am Monday morning when building works and drilling started and kept going so we just left the hotel early. We checked out on the Tuesday and staff member wasn't too bothered. Didn't ask how our stay was. Wouldn't recommend the hotel. Next time I will most likely stay in Jury's again and not the Remada.
