The small cabins looked quaint, clean, and appeared to have recently refurbished plumbing. However, because of a power failure that was beyond the owner's control, I did not stay the night. It would have been nice if the owner had offered flashlights rather than have me hunt him down and ask. It would have been nice for him to check up on as and ask how we were doing, since we had to sit at a picnic table outside, battling mosquitos. He eventually offered a refund, as at 9pm there was still no power and we desired to stay at a local motel. However, after 12 days and no credit on my Visa, I emailed him and got no response. Twice. So, I had to file a complaint to PayPal and have credit given.
And that's what I wanted to let everyone know. I made the reservation via Hotels.com and secured the stay using my Visa. The card was not to be charged until I arrived. Within 12 hours, I got an email from the owner informing me that he does not take credit cards and only uses PayPal. I would have to pay up front. I wasn't able to respond right away and in 24 hours I got another email informing me my reservation would be cancelled at day's end. I tried informing Hotels.com that he wasn't honoring the terms posted, but they didn't seem to care. So, the cabins seemed ok, but know before you go the terms and how the owner handles things.
