The area is definitely the dumps, there is an abandoned lot next door abandoned buildings across both Streets. The bunk beds were missing bolts, but the house manager was nice enough and fixed it. The folks passing through have no hygene in the common space, so there is a lot of coughing and disease passing around. They offered a weekly stay for 175$ which is cheap and cheap enough and I have it a chance since there is the kitchen and there isn't a lot of good restaurants in miami, but right after I paid the weekly rate the owner apparently texted the house manager to ask me to leave because I wasn't eating fast enough which was very strange considering there was gross uneaten food laying around the kitchen for days that had nothing to do with me and I had cooked only 10 minutes prior and hadnt yet finished my food.
I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. I was very lucky to find it when I did. Literally have people waiting to book this spot. Very chill and laid back. Management was nice and helpful. They even provided us with food one night! The beds are a little tight because they are a three bunk instead of two so don’t sit up too fast when you wake or you will hit your head;)
Is cheap. Keep in mind this. But be ready to share your room with other 12 people. Most of them homeless or immigrants. People that are weak up to 1am making noise switching on the lights talking and not care about you. The are is little Habana not very nice neighbourhood. I can't sleep there I left the room 1 am.
No matter how many times I asked, they wouldn't issue me a receipt.
If I added an extra night, the price would jump to $30, and even if I paid with cash, I wouldn't get a receipt.
The entrance was locked and I was not given the code in advance, so I couldn't get in.
Probably operating illegally. I shouldn't introduce this type of accommodation.
