It was a fantastic stay in a strategic location within the "Roma" neighborhood, in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City just west of its historic Zocalo center. The hotel has a modern brutalist architectural design and interiors, and the building is attached to a cafe and vegetarian market, making it very convenient; the security is there 24 hours a day, making it super safe.

We had a great stay. The location is ideal! So many wonderful restaurants and coffee shops around the block. Next door to a health foods market. Staff was helpful and felt secure in the building.

This is an apartment hotel, in a wonderful area in Mexico City. It is well design, clean and the people at the front desk are really really nice and responsive. We loved it, and definitely would go back again.

Roma Norte Magic
Our friends’ wedding in Cuernavaca afforded us the opportunity to spend three days in Mexico City. I had heard great things about Roma Norte and was happy to find a hotel just far enough from the center of the neighborhood to be quiet yet close enough to still be trendy. Utopic is located on Colima, a street that wakes up around 3:00 pm, when shuttered colonial houses magically turn into bars, restaurants, and shops. The hotel itself is contemporary and fun, innovative, well planned, and easy to navigate. The interior is a riot of natural textures, super clean, and appearing exactly as shown online. There is a small courtyard off the lobby and accessible rooftop area for work, study, or hanging out, a gym, parking, 24 hour security, with a well-stocked vegan grocery/take out next door. Essentially every convenience you need is right there. Our room was spacious, climate-controlled, well-lit, and with blackout blinds, however the general lack of soft furnishings does allow for a bit of noise. Ear plugs were made available in the room and the futons were so comfortable that none of my group had any trouble sleeping, including light sleeper me. All of the staff were friendly and attentive, but Jimena in particular was a ray of sunshine, knowledgeable, upbeat, and seemingly always available should we need her. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning someday to both Roma Norte and Utopic.

Great location. Can be noisy at night but wasn’t a problem for me. Fantastic cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Property is in excellent condition and the house keeping is excellent. The accommodations are modern and attractive. The furniture is decent but not incredible. The bed is comfortable but the robes and linens were itchy. I had some issues with the water pressure at times. The water coming from my sink faucet was also temporarily brown, but then rinsed out. There are lots of plumbing problems in a CDMX so I wasn’t surprised or excessively put off by it. Overall I would definitely stay again.

The apartment was new, clean, very modern and comfortable- convenient to everything you need for a lovely stay. The management was helpful, responsive and someone was there day and night to handle any issues. Secure building with a little market and began restaurant next door. Recommend highly.

If only for a little warm water…
Amazing! And yet no hot water. At all. We were told to keep the faucet knob to the center, or the right, for 5-10 minutes. That was the fix. 4 days with no hot water. This was apt P on the 2nd floor. The rest was great.
