This spectacular high-end cottage on the lake has it all. Bring your boat, bring your family and friends and we'll supply the views and fun! From a private island to a man cave with a pool table. The Hodenpyl Dam Pond/Lake of Mesick is a little-known gem of Michigan. The lake views & hiking around the property are breathtaking. Whether it's hanging by a campfire or soaking in the sun on the water, this island view property will not disappoint. Plenty of space for up to 10! Grab your dates now!

The space

There are 3 adult kayaks, 2 children kayaks and 1 canoe available for use along with a variety of life jackets. There are also yard games (corn hole, yardzee, bocce ball, croquet) available for use. During the summer there is a water slide and diving board on a floating pontoon dock for your lake fun.

During the winter, there are 7 sets of snowshoes available for use.

Please note that you will be sent our rental agreement once you book your stay.

Memorable Mesick 🍁
Beautifully situated on Hodenpyl Dam Pond and within walking distance of the suspension bridge and Manistee River Trail. Thoughtfully decorated interior that is inviting as well as well-stocked with handmade games, movies, pool, darts and everything a kitchen could need, and well-equipped on the outside with kayaks, canoe, life jackets, and hammocks. If only we had more time to enjoy it all. We would definitely go back!

Very beautiful location where the entire family could group together after a day of shopping in local communities, hiking, or fishing. Plenty of at home entertainment to allow those who wanted to stay back and enjoy the view. The peace of Hodenply Lake was hard to leave. The family hopes to be able to come back next year

Great stay
The house is well decorated. We enjoyed the cute little island with fire pitch, chairs, boat dock, slide… There are many kayaks in the storage for adults and kids. We loved kayaking on the lake, very nice and peaceful. We rented a pontoon from a company nearby and went on the lake for a day. The lake is beautiful, peaceful, small enough to enjoy with little sand at some spots that you can stop to relax and the kids can play. The only down thing that the house doesn’t have Central Air. It only has a small AC unit in the master bedroom and ceiling fans but that wasn’t enough for 90 degrees weather, that made us very exhausted.

Awesome family reunion/wedding weekend!
The home was exactly as advertised, spacious enough for 8 adults and 2 children, plenty to do for fun outside too! The boats & 3.5 baths were a huge influence on our selection decision. We loved it!!

A Perfect Place to Relax with Family and Friends
We had a fun and relaxing week kayaking, swimming, and sitting by the campfire. We had 6 kids (7-12 years old) who enjoyed every bit of this property inside and out. The lake is beautiful and peaceful and the house is close enough to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City to make day trips doable. We highly recommend!

We had a great time. The house had plenty of room for all of us. It had plenty of supplies that we forgot. It was close to a grocery and pharmacy. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and swimming in the lake. It was a good time for everyone.

Great vacation!
Our family of nine just loved this home. It is just as pictured….even better! Owners are terrific. There was a problem with the washing machine and they were there to replace the day after we arrived. Property Manger was also great to work with. Answered all my questions promptly in the weeks leading up to our stay. If you rent this house make sure you plan a day at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Beautiful!!!! Since we spent most of our time at the house we ate all of our meals there. The one suggestion I do have is to get another garbage can if it is allowed by the town. Pick up is mid week so the one can gets full fast.

Paradise up north
Well maintained cozy place on the water. My entire family enjoyed this trip up north. We could kayak, canoe, jet ski & fish right off the dock. We took our atv’s as well & the trails were literally across the street. We’ll be back!

Great place for a family
This place was great for a family. It had a lot of room and things to do. The only thing we didn’t like was the parking. It was hard to park there in the winter, as there isn’t much space when the hill is icy and snow covered. But, it wouldn’t deter us from staying there again. Other than that, it was wonderful.
