Cheap and cheerful?

The Arden Hotel is very dilapidated and desperately needs upgrading in terms of decor, furnishings and fittings. The bathroom and bed were basically clean although the chairs were old and stained. The mattress was very firm and we put the doona on top for extra comfort and just slept under a sheet. The breakfast was simple- cornflakes, white toast with milk and orange juice. The staff were helpful and accommodating.

My wife and I stayed at the Arden Motel in late December so as to be close to the Peter Mac Cancer Hospital. In all honesty, we found all the staff there to be genuinely very pleasant and friendly, the room quite spacious and the motel is located just a few minutes stroll up to the hospital. All in all, it is a very convenient and comfortable place to stay, especially for those who need accomodation for medical purposes.

Friendly staff at check in and the cleaner went above and beyond asking what was needed as I went out for the day. Old facilities, but clean, comfortable, safe and good value. A 50 minute walk to the MCG, or the walk can be shortened using the tram or bus part of the way.

The property had everything we needed, was quiet and clean. Providing breakfast was an added bonus, as we didn't have to think about finding some. It was very convenient to Royal Melbourne Hospital, which was very important to us. The staff were very obliging, and pleasant.
