Come see the fall leaves! 🏔️ 2 living rms, AT hiking in the neighborhood

Take a break from life and enjoy an "Acute Point of View"! This architecturally designed property boasts abundant natural light with an amazing south facing view of the Blue Ridge Mountains at an elevation of 4700 ft. Enjoy privacy and security as you enter the neighborhood through a 24 hr manned security gate of the Wolf Laurel community. Our home is 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on 4 floors with two living areas so you can spread out and enjoy your vacation. Or venture out on the 400 sq ft deck and enjoy the year-round cool breezes and the Smoky Mountain view at the outdoor dining table or 4 Adirondack chairs. Too cold to enjoy the outside? Cozy up to either of the two fireplaces.

Don't come up this high up the mountains and let other properties leave your 2WD stranded on a steep driveway! We have an easy decline and incline half circle driveway to the entrance railing, easily accessible for 2WD drive vehicles in all seasons except winter snow. (4WD required in the winter for general neighborhood access and safety at this elevation.)

A good night's sleep is important to us, and we want you to stay rested on vacation too. Enjoy premium quality mattress brands like BedInABox and a king Select Comfort Sleep Number. Furnished with beautiful cozy, contemporary furniture as well as a spacious fully equipped kitchen which will be at your disposal after your day's adventures. Stay in touch with our whole house wi-fi with a cable modem connection.

The Wolf Laurel community is a 30 min drive from the town of Mars Hill which has your basic necessities of a grocery store and several restaurants to choose from. For endless choices, Asheville is a scenic 45 minute drive away. Besides the highlight of the Biltmore Estate (which is NOT to be missed), Asheville has amazing dining, breweries, shopping and a unique Arts District that would keep you busy for weeks to see it all. Other highlights include an outlet mall, Asheville Botanical Gardens and Western North Carolina Nature Center.

But you came to see the mountains right? Waterfalls, breathtaking vistas and challenging trails await in any direction you choose. Start your journey right in the neighborhood with three entrances to the famous Appalachian Trail, a hike to scenic Big Bald or just a simple stroll right out the front door and up the road to the top of the mountain. Keep an eye out for deer, wild turkey, or other resident wildlife!

Venture out a little further and find adventures on the Blue Ridge Parkway and enjoy the charming mountain towns in between your hikes for the day. Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, Chimney Rock, Linville Falls and Caverns and so much more! If you really want an adrenaline thrill, try one of the local zip-lining places like Navitat for big kids or Asheville Adventure park for the littlest adrenaline junkies!

There are things to do all year long in Wolf Laurel. If you are visiting in the winter, the newly renovated Hatley Pointe Mountain Resort, located in the neighborhood, offers 14 challenging runs serviced with 4 lifts is schedule to open this winter with amazing upgrades.

Perfect summer escape
We came here in July with friends to enjoy cooler temps at higher elevations and to hike the trails nearby. We loved the solitude of the neighborhood, being able to enjoy time outside on the deck and see all the views, and have plenty of space for our group. Such a unique home, we would love to come back!

Relaxing Mountain Retreat
The house is so unique and was perfect for our family including two teens and grandpa. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom and the first floor den was a great place for the kids to have some space to themselves. The views and sunsets were gorgeous. Kitchen was well stocked and the home owner communication was very good. Drive up a little farther and do the hike at the Big Bald trail.

Unique home
We loved our stay at this home over Thanksgiving. The home itself is incredibly unique. The sunset view over the mountains is not to be missed. Loved everything about it and will come back. We have two small dogs who were a bit fearful of the spiral staircase - which was good, because they could definitely get hurt on it. This was described by the owners in the listing but wanted to also emphasize!

Acute House
My family and I loved the house. It was visually interesting and laid out well for our small group. Everyone got their own room and bathroom which provided privacy but we could also gather in the common areas for movies, dinner, and stargazing on the deck. Our check in was seamless, the house was clean and well supplied for our short stay. The view from the deck was incredible. Mountain bliss. We hiked the Nature Trail up to its merging with the AT. Nice moderate hike on well marked trail. Gorgeous scenery and lots of deer to keep your senses occupied. The little general store at the entrance to the property was super nice for everyday grocery items and the staff at the entrance gates to the property were courteous and friendly every time we went through. The town of Mars Hills has a little Main Street with some cool boutiques and the restaurant recommendations were spot on. Thank you for a comfortable and beautiful stay.

Peaceful and Unique Getaway
The Acute POV property was the perfect getaway for our family trip to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was very spacious and private. Being in a gated community made us feel safe. We got to see a lot of wildlife, and the hike to Big Bald was amazing. Nancy, the owner, was very timely in her communications with us, and she provided great recommendations for restaurants and fun activities to do.

Mountainside respite
Wow, what a remarkable property! Our family of 5 loved having individual rooms for everyone, and also lots of shared spaces to hang out. And the view - breathtaking from the top of the spiral stairs or the large deck. Don't miss the quick ride up to the top of the mountain to get 360-degree views from the peak of Big Bald! Would return in a heartbeat.

This house was a great way to spend a family vacation! The house had plenty of room to spread out considering we had three different families. So everyone got their own floor. The views were outstanding and Nancy was very easy to get in touch with when we had any questions. We loved our stay!

The pointy cabin
This was our second stay at The Pointy Cabin in two years, so you can tell we love the place. Nancy is so great to work with and the cabin is just perfect in every way. The kitchen/dining/ living area is big enough for all of us when we want to be together and the lower level with its fireplace is perfect for doing puzzles and playing games. And the top floor observatory is a nice quiet place for reflection. We love this place!

MUST STAY
If you’re looking for a modern retreat tucked away in the mountains, but perfectly close to Asheville, this is it! We were so impressed with the location, the cleanliness, and the layout of the home. It was extremely accommodating for our large group. The views from the deck were spectacular and we loved sitting around the oversized dining room table watching the sun set over the mountains and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much for hosting us!

We were able to easily access trails to hike, whitewater rafting and the Biltmore Estate. Our time spent in the home was relaxing and we enjoyed the neighborhood and views. Beautiful Location and Property
The neighborhood and property are so beautiful. We saw deer, rabbits, and turkeys almost everyday driving in and out of the neighborhood, and the view each morning and evening were breathtaking. The property is very clean and perfect for multiple couples to have some privacy while still having plenty of room to hang out as a group. Overall couldn’t be happier and would love to stay again!

Great getaway
Property was so cool. House was super clean and well stocked. Great views and lots of space to hang out. . Our dog appreciated the dog bed in the master. A few notes - it is about 25 min to drive to the house from main road so prepare accordingly if you need groceries, etc. Also there are 3 spiral staircases to move between floors. Took a little for our dog to get used to but she managed. If you do not like spiral staircases, this is not your jam. Nancy gave us some great recommendations for local spots. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the local wildlife and peaceful views.

Overall the experience was very good. Clean, lots of space and incredible views. Home needs more pillows as a lot of folks sleep with extra pillows. Only other wish would be a hot tub for the evenings. I’d go back but id bring my pillows. Both master light bulbs were out as well as two in the master bath. But we managed.
