If you want to experience a riyad experience, this is a good budget place. Centrally located to everything in medina. Big rooms and clean bathroom, very quite at night. You might consider hotel pick up for the first time. It is not easy to fine. I reserved a airport pickup service online, which was recommended at a messageboard somewhere, but they did not show up. I took a taxi for 150 diram at 11 pm and driver was pretty decent guy. He asked around and found the riad for us. Keep in mind though, most people in Marrakech do not speak ENglish.
May sound like a cliche, but Like Morocco, Marrakech is a place of huge contrasts. The medina is crowded, chaotic and full of extreme poverty everywhere, most people seem to be trying to make a living in vain. But, just the southwest of the big tower in media, it is a completely different world--beautiful boulevards lined with palm trees and exotic flowers, modern shopping malls, restaurants and incredibly beautiful parks. Jardin majorelle is the top recommendation in attraction list, but it is very small and felt like a tourist trap and not worth the 70 mad. The el harti garden gueliz is much bigger and more beautiful in my opinion. It is also free.
