Bad customer service
I was there in July 2012. I booked, based on Expedia customer reviews, here is what I experienced from my stay:
1. Bad customer service - When I phoned reception from my room (after struggling to find the correct number, as they wrote the wrong number on the phone), the lady in reception hung the phone up on me, when I tried to call again she wouldn't answer or would put me on hold. In the end I had to walk there from my room to request for help.
2. No Wi-Fi in the rooms - I now realise it does say on expedia that 'available in some public areas', but I booked the hotel last minute and really needed access to stay in contact with family back home. Internet access is only available near the pool area, and when its dark at night with all the lights out there, it's not very welcoming.
3. Unclean room - Although the room was very tidy, the tiled floor in my room was not clean, I did not feel comfortable walking bare foot in the room. There was also a dead spider on my bed when I first arrived and the kitchen cupboards in my room were full of grease marks, making me very uncomfortable to use the kitchen area at all. The toothbrush holder in the bathroom had a dirty cotton bud inside it, so I never put my toothbrush inside it.
4. The Pool area lights go out at night - as mentioned in point 2, the communal area lights are turned off, not as the photo shown on Expedia, leaving you in darkness.
