We really enjoyed this vintage pub with cosy, modern rooms upstairs in Robin Hood’s backyard.
Taking daughter to uni in Nottingham so this was an ideal stop.
The kitchen was closing at 8 so we arrived just in time to grab a tasty bite from extensive menu.
A bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich on crusty bread was washed down with a couple of draught beers while watching the Champions League along with the bar’s friendly lab.
Triple room nicely decorated was ideal for us with power shower and good night’s sleep. Window onto street but didn't notice traffic noise.
Can’t say I’ve had a fire grate in a bathroom before but along with the wooden vaulted ceilings in the dining room, it showed the inn’s character.
Eggs Benedict and all sorts of other al la carte breakfast was tasty.
Much better value than bland hotel chains.
Will be back if in area again.
