A charming country estate retreat. Host was very welcoming. The family room with maisonette 2nd bedroom and spacious bathroom was great. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of delicious meats, presumably from the pigs that are farmed here too. Just beware the premium prices of imported beers.
Ängavallen in a pig farm! Something I think isn’t mentioned on hotels.com. They also have cows, sheep and grow vegetables, but their main focus definitely seems to be on pigs. I don’t eat meat, and the whole concept of breeding animals to kill and eat them makes me uneasy. So if I had known, I wouldn’t have booked this place. However I’m glad I did, because we really did enjoy our stay and the pigs and piglets that lived right outside our room were adorable. (I should add to Ängavallens defense that these animals do have a good life compared to most livestock).
This property is truly beautiful. The white stucco main building (where the owners live) is true Skåne perfection. The old brick barn is turned into a restaurant. New buildings are added for housing guests. It all looks like something our of Town & County, Conde Nast Traveller or Departures Magazine. The food was great too.
I wish this place would double their prices, hire more staff and bump everything up a notch. More options on the menu, adding a bar/lounge, maybe a pool (the beaches around are jam packed). We usually stay 5-star and the 3-star service experience was a little annoying. Especially given that this property has such an amazing potential. Lots of American people would spend $2000/night to stay in a place like this! Please Ängavallen: turn this into a true luxury retreat!
We stayed here as an airport hotel for the Copenhagen airport as it is only 30 min away. But it was a world away. A beautiful farm, lovely hotel, excellent breakfast. I did not want to leave.

Decent
Decent, but nothing fancy. Very small room was prepared for one occupant instead of a couple and room seemed a bit dark. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Good breakfast.
I arrived late so could not enjoy it as much as I would have wanted to. Very nice setting; a little holiday cottage away from the main building. Not sure how that would be when it rains but surely a great place to go.
Lovely rural setting for this eco-farm hotel. Plain but stylish rooms and bathrooms with enough quirkiness to make them interesting; nice touches in the liqueur and chocolate (not left, thankfully, on the pillow!) Breakfast was more of the same - simple and plain but of a very high quality indeed.
We stayed at Angvallen for one night while we toured around Skåne on a mini-break. The hotel has a lovely calming location, but we chose the hotel mainly for its connected restaurant and eco dairy and meat products. We booked a family room for more space, but were moved to a smaller room which was clean and with a comfortable bed, but nondescript otherwise. Enjoyed our stay and the family staff was very helpful. Would stay again (for another dinner night out).
Nice for a family weekend retreat,or conference and team buildings. countryside, fresh air, make their own cheese, but slow internet and no so many breakfast choices
Perfekt för oss som behöver ge oss hemifrån när det skjuts raketer flera dagar innan nyår. Vi och vår hund lunde slappna av och njuta av det ligna miljön.
